I wish the city view room was a little more scenic as the pictures make it look more appealing. The only thing that was very strange was there wasn’t any soap in the bathroom to wash your hands! Very weird.

The hotel is amazing and so fresh and new. It’s very quiet and a great position. The buffet Brekky and the pool was amazing. The online check in is so easy. The rooms are small but it didn’t matter.

The only negative would be having an outdoor pool, as this means you can’t use it all year round.

Walking distance to so many things, like cafes, restaurants, Chinatown, theatres, Melbourne central shopping etc. We don’t even use our car when we stay at the Rydges. It’s also one of the few hotels that have rooms that can accomodate big families. The beds and pillows are also so comfy and bathrooms very clean. Plus they have a great buffet breakfast. Rydges is our go to place to stay when planning a trip to the city.

Pool was really small and views were obscured from pool deck. Pillows were all very high which made a comfortable sleep impossible for me. The room was also a little too warm and I was unable to adjust aircon down. Buffet breakfast, while really set up well, could have been improved by freshly cooked eggs (poached eggs were sitting in water and chef said it would be 6-8 minutes to make fresh, which is not long, but I already had my toast), bacon that was less hard, and some pancakes or waffles or omelettes.

Central location with parking next door. Modern refurbishment was nice.

Buffet breakfast requires lots of improvement. Fresh-made omelettes were terrible. Staff skills need improvement in this area. More cold meats and cheeses could be offered. Hollandaise sauce should also be made available.

The renovation is fabulous. Hotel very clean and luxurious. Very spacious rooms, we had the family suite which was perfect for our family of 4. Great location close to restaurants, theatres, trams. Highly recommend this hotel. Also, probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in in an hotel.

All good, I'm pleased to say.

Great location, within easy walking distance to Fed Square, NGV, ACCA and the Recital Hall. The hotel is just around the corner from lots of great restaurants, bars and Pellegrini's. Paperback bookshop and Play DVD shop are just around the corner as well. The trams to Fitzroy and Collingwood are also moments away. The room was quiet, well appointed and spotless. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and even let us check in early.
