A little close to main road but there wasn't much traffic after dark.

Lovely bungalow in lush gardens. Felt like home. Friendly host gave me great local info on arrival. Could walk across road straight onto the beach (no swimming!)

Open concept for toilet and shower area offers limited privacy for all guests. Unsure if itchiness and bug bites were sustained from the bedsheets or from exposure to the harsh elements. Was also hoping to catch a glimpse of the 2 resident Casssowaries, but to no avail... :(

The cabins were so well decked out- every single thing you could ask for was there. The location was 10/10- straight over the road was an awesome restaurant and beautiful beach. The Owners were divine, and the friendliest couple you could wish to meet!

Cabin had absolutely everything you needed. Comfortable bed, great shower, cold fridge, and fantastic outdoor kitchen with bbq and hob. Best of all was sitting looking at the ocean with a beer in hand. There is a beach cafe opposite the cabin and loads of restaurants within a few mins drive.

Great base to explore the daintree area. Small but with everything we needed. Dean and Jodie are fantastic hosts who made sure we had everything we needed.

Small but perfectly formed cabin in a fantastic location. Çomfortable bed and everything you need for a night at Cape Trib. Opposite the beach and Thorntons Bar and Restaurant ( which was open on Sat night for fish an chips). The owner was really helpful showing us where to go and what to see and communication was excellent. This is a small cabin but everything is beautifully maintained and shows attention to detail so that it works. Individual BBQ and outdoor space, ocean glimpses.

Lovely little bungalows in the middle of Daintree Forest. The bungalows are well equipped, and beach-side location is very nice. Although a bit small, the bungalow feels very cozy. Owner was also very helpful.

This place in truly amazing! We loved staying here for 2 nights and regretted that we could not stay longer. Although the whole area is off the grid (relying on solar power) it has everything we needed, even a washing machine (cold only) what we didn't expect. Be aware however that due to the humid conditions, it takes very long to dry the clothes (no tumbler available of course). The lack of A/C was no problem at all as the whole building has ventilation blinds that can be opened and there are remote controlled fans everywhere so you can have a nice breeze during the night. Be sure to bring everything you need to the Daintree forest as there are not many shopping opportunities. The kitchen is large and together with the BBQ grill we could cook a delicious meal. The owner took much time to show us around and explained us everything. She was super friendly!

Best to leave big suitcases in the car

Great location just opposite Thornton Beach which was visible through the trees from the balcony of the bungalow, parking space outside , . There is enough off grid electricity to run the fridge, light and a socket to charge phones etc. there was plenty of hot water for showers. The covered private outside kitchen had a gas BBQ and a single gas ring plus pans and utensils and a seating area. The bedroom is small but comfortable, a good value for money place to stay.

The bungalows are set just across the road from Thornton Breach, which is absolutely stunning. They are exceptionally clean and comfortable. The little extras such as the tea and coffee facilities were great and there was a lovely balcony with table and chairs along with a private bbq area. Our host, Dean was amazing. Very friendly and so kind to us when our car didn’t start. He did all he could to get it working, but to no avail and when we had to wait for 4 hours for a mechanic he let us to stay at the property and kept us company while we waited, telling us stories and interesting facts about the area. We would DEFINITELY recommend Thornton Beach Bungalows and would love to stay there again one day.

We should have bright more drinking water. You can drink the tap water but gets brown after heavy rain.

Off grid luxurious beach hut with bbq and basic cooking facilities. Solar power, rainwater fed, 30 seconds from beach. Nice bar and fish & chips restaurant opposite. Extremely quiet except for weather, waves and wildlife. Magical place, very weather dependent. Great for beach combing and relaxing.
