Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicI was given a room with just one window and no view. Breakfast is not included in the price and is very expensive. The beach has strong currents and high waves and for two days there were red flags so we couldn't swim. You have to walk along the beach to Sapphire Beach Condominium to access the sea without kicking your toes on sharp stones. Some reception staff appeared bothered by my check-in and occasional questions.
The hotel is right on the beach at a prime location. It is very close to Bridgetown and walking distance to Oistins fish market. My room had a little kitchen with a fridge, kettle and a cooker. The staff kept it spotless although it needs updating. The decor and furnishings are old. Sun loungers on the beach are free. You can see and swim with turtles. Cocktail event with the hotel's management was very enjoyable. There is a bus stop very close to the hotel and a shop nearby. There are many restaurants and bars on the St Lawrence Gap road but only Sharkey's Tropical Cafe is opened for lunch, others open only in the evening.

United StatesIt isn't the newest, most luxurious property, but it is very comfortable, perfectly located, well maintained, and spotless. It was perfect for our visit.
Our room was cleaned everyday. It was spotless. Loved the balcony and view. We didn't have a kitchen, but the small refrigerator with the small freezer, was extremely helpful, as we made our breakfast and lunch on some of the days we were exploring the island. The resort was located in the Gap but seemed removed from being too noisy or crazy. It was a very convenient location for our first visit to Barbados. We rented a car, and it was nice having the very secure place to park the car. We enjoyed the delicious food at the dinner buffets and entertainment. We enjoyed the opportunity to meet some of the other guests at the Rum Punch Parties.

FranceWe found the food that we did have at the hotel was good, despite being expensive. However we were put off by the already expensive prices then being increased by further taxes which pushed up the bill considerably. We know that is it is an American norm to give prices exclusive of taxes but have not experienced this so much in Barbados. At other nearby restaurants you paid the price quoted plus a gratuity of your choice which we prefer.
We did not have breakfast as it was very expensive.

United StatesMini-golf course is pretty beat up and the snorkeling equipment was basically only for kids (in terms of sizes)
Located right on Dover Beach and in the St. Lawrence Gap you have access to so many little local restaurants and shops. Also right down the street from the Dover Playing Field so we got to watch some local soccer and cricket matches on Friday and Saturday nights! Every single staff member we encountered was friendly and outgoing - they did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable and fun.

United Kingdomon the first couple of days there was some weed which hadn't been cleared up unlike the hotels further on that had cleared it up immediately.
Carolyn and Corey at reception were super helpful and an asset to the team. The location is right on the beach, which is what we wanted and we had a lovely room facing the sea - could not get a better view. The hotel is clean and easy access to the area. It is expensive in golbal terms but considering the prices in Barbados, the price reflects the accomodation, more for setting than facilities.

United Statesif the room i stayed in had a better view of the ocean that would have made this the best resort I have stayed in while in Barbados.
spacious room with separate living room. TV in both the living and bedroom. Patio area very spacious. the entire hotel was very nice. The resort was a 5 min walk to the Gap nightlife and far enough not to hear the music late at night.

United KingdomThe hotel has terrapins (or turtles I’m not sure but I think terrapins) living in a tiny water fountain. The water is mucky and there is no space for them to move around. Some of them were sitting on top of each other for lack of space. We thought that was terrible and not at all in keeping with Barbados’s efforts around natural turtle habitat conservation. We feel very strongly about nature conservation and animal welfare and we wouldn’t visit the property on these grounds alone, despite the good elements. The property is quite dated and has an old fashioned feel. We didn’t eat lunch or dinner there because the restaurant is not particularly interesting - there are lots of very nice cafes and restaurants on the island which we preferred to go to. We would recommend hiring a car so you can see the whole island. The buses also work very well. Finally, the serving staff at breakfast seemed to be either very unobservant or have an odd way of working. Every breakfast we had there we waited for a long time to be seated, then had ask for a menu after about 10 minutes, then go up to the desk to ask for the bill, because staff would walk right past and not make eye contact even if we were trying get their attention. We noticed it happened to a lot of other tables too. Perhaps they are on ‘Caribbean time’ but we found it a bit too slow when we are trying to get out and make the most of the day.
Staff are very nice, accommodating and willing to got the extra mile to help. Rodney in particular was great and really helpful with our watersports requests! The extra activities are a plus- the mini golf course, snorkels to borrow etc. Our room was always cleaned to a high standard. Although the property is quite dated we quite liked the ‘Miami in the 70s’ vibe (which we’re not sure is intentional). The location is perfect and the beach beautiful.
