Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThe house is a bit old and while this is charming in itself, it does show its age with certain stuff. The sofa bed is not that comfortable.
Loved the location and the coziness of the house. Check in and checkout went extremely smoothly and everything was as described. Communication was excellent.

NetherlandsIt's an old house so you hear the people upstairs walking. If that is something you cannot ignore you should not book here. For me, the only really thing I really didn't like were the pillows on the bed, they we're way way too hard.
I only stayed one night but I would book it if I return for a longer stay. It definitely is a good place to relax after sightseeing or going out in the centre. And the location is perfect for this.

Studio Rempart was very cozy and conveniently situated for us, who were travelling by public transport. All amenities were taken care of and the laminated info cards were extremely useful. We (family of 4) really enjoyed our stay.

MaltaMaybe you will not find the predictable comfort of a hotel, but you get instead the comfort of a cozy house, breathing centuries of live, and the generosity of the hosts (e.g. no extra cleaning fees, or plenty of coffee pads for the Senseo shared without counting).

United KingdomThere are very steep and tight steps up to the top apartment where we stayed. We managed fine with large suitcases and a buggy but if you have any sort of mobility issues then that apartment probably wouldn’t be the best place to stay for you.
We travelled for the Christmas market and this property couldn’t have been in a better location. It was really easy to find by car and the car park is directly opposite the property. The car park was €27 euros for 24hr and is nice and secure. The property itself is about 1min walk away from the start of the Christmas market. The communication from the host was fantastic before we got to the property so access into the building was really easy. The apartment was spacious, clean and had everything you could want for. We travelled with a toddler and there was plenty of room for him. Would definitely recommend staying here for any sort of visit to Brussels. We will sure be booking again for next year.

ItalyIt is a rustic place so I can't think of something I don't like except for the stairs which while going up or down you have to be carefull but acceptable because it is an old place.
The place was very comfortable and well located. It is near the sites in brussels and eating places. Transportation is very accessable.

FranceThe wifi signal isn't very strong (we tried both networks and neither was great). There was a lot of noise from the apartment above when it was occupied.
It is a great location with lots of shops, bars, and restaurants around, the apartment is large and tastefully decorated with interesting theming, and the bed and the sofa are very comfortable. Daniel was very communicative and answered all questions promptly. Check-in was easy.

United StatesIt seemed that we arrived on one of the two hottest days in Belgium in decades. We were on the top floor and a small fan attempted to move the heavy air. The portable AC unit pushed cold air out for maybe a minute it and we gave up as it was too loud and doing nearly nothing so we shut it off. We certainly could've used a larger fan, perhaps even one on a pedestal. We never requested one either so that's on us. Our time change exhaustion helped us to sleep. We also forgot that in Europe sheets are not a thing. Even as it was super hot outside and now in an upper floor of a very old building a ceiling fan and a simple bed sheet would've been more comfortable then duvets. As the temps dropped the space was much more agreeable inside too. The shower room could benefit with better ventilation, hard to do in an old building I'm sure.
Excellent location to walk into the heart of Brussels, dinner and shopping. We are dedicated to walking the cities we visit and found this location very good for our needs. We enjoyed the lovely patio away from the street and how charming that spot was to start our day with a coffee, yogurt and a pastry we picked up at the grocers. The space was sufficiently supplied for our needs and although right on a street quiet enough at night to sleep. Or maybe that was just the jet lag. We truly appreciated the ability to leave our luggage off early and walked across the street to a corner pub to have our first Belgian beer as the housekeeper finished cleaning the unit. Then an early check in was made possible. Plus the ability to leave our luggage in storage after check out and before our ride arrived to the train station. Daniel was very accommodating and was excellent in communications prior and during our travels. He even helped us move our heavy luggage up and down the stairs. We also enjoyed having our friends join us in a separate apartment which was also creatively decorated and due to location in the building much cooler. That was very convenient.

ItalyThe furniture, in general, are really old. This is true for almost everything in the apartment. In some cases (i.e. for the lamps), I found this a bit dangerous as some of the cables were "uncovered". I found then quite annoying the apartment door lock. Maybe it was me (even if I doubt) but I found it very difficult to close it. Most of the times it was blocked for apparently no reason up to the point it "magically" decide to close with no effort.. A mistery.. Anyway, I think it can be considered as part of the "old" furniture characteristic of the place. In terms of cleanliness, in practice I found it clean but, again, as most of the things (kitchen, bathroom, furniture, walls) look so "old" it also doesn't give a good impression.
The apartment is located in a really good position. It is very close to Saint Catherine with the metro station and a lot of good restaurant and walking distance to Bourse and Grand Place. I found the bed quite comfortable and clean. The owner was very responsive/proactive providing (good) instructions and solving some little issue during my stay. In particular, entering the building was very easy. Overall it is a good value for money but, to be honest, I don't fully advise it.
