Perfect location, clean and tidy rooms, beautiful view over the Danube river, nice breakfast, extremely friendly staff at the reception. I would highly recommend Grand Hotel Riga as one of the best options to explore the town and the region around Ruse.

Dirty room carpet - not hovered at all after the previous customer. Lazy cleaners for sure who think the carpet in black colour will not reveal the dirts. I even suspect the bath towels.

Some small details could be taken care of - some dust on the furniture and the carpet, smeared windows and a roll of toilet paper that is just about to finish. A bit disappointing that you have to pay for a coffee capsule if you want to use the coffee machine in the room, that could be offered as a compliment and included in the room price.

We loved the view from the executive suite - the Danube river and the entire city of Ruse! The location is really great - just a few minutes away from the city center and at the bank of the river. The food at the restaurant downstairs was really great and the staff was very polite.

We stayed for one night on a family vacation trip to Ruse. We had 2x deluxe rooms. Staff at reception were professional and friendly, and spoke a very good English. The rooms were recently renovated, clean and spacious with complimentary water and coffee facilities. The bathrooms were lovely (unlike other hotels in Bulgaria on the same trip!). Comfortable beds and good breakfast with some Bulgarian specialities (filo pastry and a Bulgarian variation on the theme of French) toast) as well as a wide choice of other breakfast foods and good coffee. We loved the views over the Danube and the proximity to the city centre. Ruse boasts some of the most elegant (19th century) buildings in Bulgaria worth seeing while taking a relaxed stroll. We found the people of Ruse to be very kind and welcoming and enjoyed the small shops and the city Art Gallery which holds great works by famous Bulgarian artists. Highly recommended.

But as for the breakfast...during my stay there was one and the same food every day. it would be better if something would change. Also the water did not go in the sink, I told them but nothing changed.

There is no fitness in the hotel. Just basic stuff would make the stay even better and it is not a huge investment.

I made a reservation for my grand-parents and they were very happy with their stay. They had a room upgrade, which was really nice surprise. Breakfast is nice and you can have all you need there. Staff is really friendly and polite.

The breakfast staff is not professional at all! The elevators looked very old school. The carpet in the room looks pretty used. Hair drier didn't work however reception was kind and repaired it.

Well, if I have to be honest, brreakfast gave mixed signals :-) The first morning we went 30min before the breakfast finished and it seemed most of the things were finished and not being replaced, so there was very little to choose from. The next morning we went a bit earlier (maybe 50min or something before the end), but there were still many things available and most importantly what was finished was dully replaced. So yes, breakfast was much more efficient on New Year's day morning and maybe the day before was just ...one of those days (it can happen to anyone).

We chose Riga Hotel to stay during the change of the year 2023 to 2024. It's a hotel very nicely located on the bank of river Danube, with views over the city of Ruse, Danube river and Romania across the river (mainly Ghiurghiu city). The room was very nice, clean, quiet and the personnel very helpful and nice. There are also a few restaurants to choose from, on the spot (we tried the Gardea). There is also free parking for the car. Lastly, the hotel is only a 5min walk from the centre of Ruse and Svoboda sq. We would stay again.

The lack of a balcony would be considered an inconvenience in the summer time but for the cold season it doesn’t even matter also the lifts could get an improvement

We loved the view, the room the receptionist was very friendly and professional and we got an upgrade of the room at no extra cost.
