Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaThe location was central which we wanted but walking around the first day, someone tried to mug my husband. After that we did not feel very safe. The air conditioner only worked when you are in the room and even then it didn’t seem to keep us very cool. It was warm sleeping.
The breakfast was excellent. One day we had an early tour so they gave us a bagged breakfast. The sandwich was on bread that was very dry so the bagged breakfast was not very good.

SpainThe breakfast was a bit sad (especially the coffee, which if you hadn't told me it was coffee I'd never have guessed, but we also came across this tragedy in other hotels in Chile). However, for the price we couldn't complain too much.
The location is good, close to the historic center. The room was pretty large. The staff were kind and helpful.

United StatesThe hotel lobby is on 10th floor and there is no English signs on the ground level. It would be nice if the hotel can provide a bottle of drinking water each day.
The property is near the city center and we can walk to Plaza de Armas and other landmarks in Santiago. Staff members were very friendly and we left two luggages while traveling to Easter Island. The hotel room includes a small kitchen.

In hindsight you need to be staying in Lastarria or Bellavista, which has a lot more atmosphere and is a lot nicer area
