So clean! Great little kitchen. Helpful staff. Lovely reception area with newspapers. It all looked so basic and clinical when. I walked in, almost like an office building, and I was initially surprised that it did not seem very residential or hotel-like. But wow my first impression was so wrong! It was so very welcoming once I got past the doorway and stopped focusing on the quite industrial/office-like carpet. The reception staff were so lovely. The bed was incredibly comfortable. I slept like a log. The room was quiet and dark. I also loved the little stereo system.

It was not easy to get a decent takeaway meal. That was because of the location, not anything to do with the Quest itself. I ended up ordering a yucky pizza on Ubereats and a chocolate mousse. Not great! But reception had alcohol so I washed it down with a pear cider which was reasonably priced and delicious.

The Shoemaker's Cottage

We enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay at Shoemakers Cottage and we very much enjoyed our return visit to Richmond and surrounds. The cottage was very well appointed, very clean and very comfortable – we were sorry to leave!

the room is fine. Clean and in order. easy accessible from Surfers paradise. cars is accessible and in order.

on call staff esp. during off hours are not considerate. when the aircon gets faulty, they told us that no consideration to keep the guest comfortable. all they say is just wait for 9am the following day for maintenance to fix. no other option given to guest especially over night that no aircon is working aside from fan only.

Location was perfect for what we were there for, short walking distance to everything.

Didn't appreciate having to pay a bond or extra for parking, room rate should have been enough to cover everything. Mattress was lumpy and should be replaced. Some towel rails and hooks in the bathroom wouldn't go astray. Also the curtain were missing some hooks so were falling down and looked untidy. It's the little things that don't take much effort that make all the difference!

There was no elevator and it was not mentioned until we got our check- in instruction. We were not given the check in instruction despite my numerous emails. My daughter had to call and made a fuss only then they send the instruction to her . The check out instruction was also wrongly given . They also tried to charge us extra for being tourist.

Upon arrival, our room unfortunately had a malfunctioning bathro byom and a faulty tap. While the initial response indicated that running water wasn't a room functionality issue, we were promptly moved to a different room upon request. Additionally, the secured parking option was not advertised as paid, and had we been aware, we might have chosen a different location with all-inclusive features. The 'essentials' pack provided in the room fell short of the advertised amenities. It only included a single tea bag, two opened dishwasher tablets, and one toilet roll. Furthermore, the Wi-Fi connection was not functional throughout our stay, resulting in a less-than-ideal overall experience.
