Denis House is perfectly located close to Plaza de Armas de Iquitos. 5 minutes walking distance to the central tourist area overlooking the Amazon River. From Denis House everywhere is in the city easily accessible by motor taxi. The building is new and very modern. Exceptionally clean with a swimming pool on one of the roof roof terrace. A higher terrace gives a 360 degree view of the entire city and the vastness of the Amazon. The manager of Denis House, Elizabeth is very kind and helpful with any enquires regarding the property or any questions that made my stay in Iquitos feel like I was at home. I will look forward to staying here again when I return to Peru. Thank you to all at Denis House.

Wonderful nature around the lodge. The hosts from puqio are very kind and helpful, they help you with everything you need to know and give you tips for some interesting daytrips. They have two wonderful dogs and cats and usually there are some chicken around.

The staff here are delightful and the main lounge looks great and is very old world. Beds are comfortable too.

The location has good views (from the restaurant and certain rooms) but it's an inconvenient place for getting to and from the town. Taxis are inexpensive though. It's the little things that let this hotel down. And there were lots. A room that was a long outdoor walk from reception (not great in the cold and rain) and supposedly had views but they were across a garden and fence. The restaurant closes at 8pm and there are no walkable options nearby. We ate there and it was massively disappointing. We ordered the lovely sounding steaks medium rare and they came out as blue (as in completely cold inside, barely introduced to heat). And they were served with a pile of floury inedible potatoes. We've had wonderful food all of our week here so far so this was an outlier. In the room there are no coffee/tea making facilities, no rubbish bins except in the toilet, barely warm water for a shower in the evening after a trek (it was hot in the morning), and bright lights in the courtyard that can't be fully blocked out by curtains and are on all night). And also instructions for our checkout baggage help needs were lost between the night staff and the morning ones. Lastly, we had to leave before breakfast and their 'boxed breakfast ' was a tiny sad ham sandwich dry biscuits and a bottle of water. After staying at a real Palacio (del Inka) earlier, this was a massive disappointment.

Comfy bed but unfortunately the amenities and services were bad.

Showers are only just warm, not hot. The walls are paper thin. We could hear everything very loudly from other guests, including them using the toilet… The light from the room above came into ours so we had to move rooms late at night. The new room was much quieter. The WiFi is VERY poor, only works intermittently. 20m up the road we could get strong 4G signal on our phones, but no service or WiFi in the hotel. You can see through the curtain into the room when the light is on in the room. Had some laundry done and when we were given our bag of washing back the following morning and it was still really wet.
