How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The lift out of order on 5 floor bit of a struggle not a great choice for breakfast and coffee machine broken Kettle in place instead .

The lift was broken and I had been put up in a room on the top floor. No excuses were made for this and it seemed we all just had to accept that the lift would not be fixed. Breakfast was very basic but the service was good.

Room was on the small size as it was supposed to be a superior room. Dining room small and cramped and would have been better with a cooked breakfast.

Great accommodation with perfect connection to the main entertainments, tasty breakfast, approximately 150m to the nearest metro station. A stones throw to the Hyde Park. Perfect!

The rooms are tiny and like being in a cupboard. The tv is at a ridiculous angle above the bed. There is no lift available. The breakfast room is so small there is not enough room for the guests

The room was on the 5th floor and they sprayed the place with a disinfectant which was strong which made climbing the stairs and breathing difficult. Service at the desk takes a really long time always a sign that says “gone for a little while” we where waiting 5-10mins my partner had to call them to get someone to come to the reception.

-The floor carpet were really old and dirty -AC fan was very dusty and loud, looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years - the drainage of the shower was choked up , almost swimming while I’m showering

Tiny room with sloping ceiling. 6 flights of steep stairs.

A lot of ants in the bathroom… The fire exits were poorly displayed and very confusing, corridors very narrow and piled up with baggage which would be very dangerous in the event of a emergency

We were upgraded, unfortunately there’s no lift. By the time we walk up to our 5th floor, we were too exhausted and couldn’t risk going out of the hotel for a walk. The answer is No Lift.
Breakfast was great no fry up but more than enough. A good healthy variety.

It might be helpful to have a list of less busy/busy breakfast times as the room is very small and you may find yourself waiting for quite a while to get breakfast. I miss-timed it on the first morning (my bad) and decided to go elsewhere - didn't fancy going up and down 4 flights of stairs just to try to get a bowl of cereal.
Very helpful and cheerful staff team. Comfortable room. Great location. I think that it was just unfortunate that I visited whilst the lift was being replaced. The stairs get steeper after 3rd floor and could be tricky for some folks. I think it will be great for the hotel and visitors when it is finished.

Bed - gap between the mattress, bed & the wall. When my partner turned over he went into the gap, so every time he moved I moved with him. Not quite a double bed. We requested an additional quilt & packed the gap with it which solved the problem. TV didn’t work Hard wired hair dryer, glowed red then shorted. PAT tested date was 2021. Reported to reception & given a hairdryer to use. Breakfast - small room, difficult to move around. Reasonable spread, however, the fresh meats were on the same table as guests dirty dishes, as a qualified advanced food safety handler this was gross. Following this we did not go into breakfast again.
Great location. The receptionist when we checked in was so helpful which continued throughout our stay. The room & bathroom was clean. The issues we had were rectified at reception.

No operational lift..we were on the 6th floor with heavy cases!! Nightmare…breakfast room had 6 tables !!!!!! If you didn’t get down first thing you had no chance….stairs very steep and no obvious fire exit
