Parking charge at £18 per night is expensive. Bar prices very high around £15 for a medium (175ml) glass of red wine,(ordinary rioja, nothing special).

The welcome at reception was a little underwhelming and the bathrooms very small.

Very comfortable room - especially the bed. The bathrooms are a little small but all in all good value for money. The breakfast selection was unexpectedly good. I would stay again.

Great location, lovely room at front of hotel, and they left chocolates for us and a lovely note as it was our 10th anniversary. We didn’t use any hotel facilities as it’s so central we were out and about all the time.

I was a little disappointed with the breakfast as there was no cold option on offer such as hams and cheeses. I was not offered orange juice but had to ask for it nor was I offered a second cup of coffee again having to ask for it. However the food on the not menu was well presented and tasteful.

This is my sort of hotel, situated in an ideal location in the High Street so close to the shops,bars and restaurants. The room and bathroom was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. An old building with character and cosy atmosphere.

Waited to be seated at breakfast, then waited ages for anyone to speak to us. not even an offer of tea or coffee. Gave up and asked for our money back re breakfast and walked into town to eat! Was a shame as menu looked nice!

We found the breakfast service a bit formal and would have preferred a buffet which we feel is more practical and possibly less wasteful? Having said that the service was impeccable

The suite we were allocated was very comfortable, spacious and quiet and gave a superb view of the Cathedral.

Very overpriced for level of quality of the rooms, shower falling out of the wall & bathroom overall quite shabby. Even tho we got upgraded free I don’t believe the upgraded room was worth the full price. The window views were pretty bad & a bad smell in the room continuously which smelt like it was covered with bleach

The bed was on wheels. When we sat up in bed to have a cup of tea, with no headboard, 8qwe propped our pillows against the wall. However, the wheels made the bed move away from the wall, and the pillows fell to the floor.

Parking. On-site car park was always full. Had to park in shopping centre and walk through city centre full of Xmas shoppers and stalls with our bags. Bear this in mind when you are packing!

Very helpful reception staff who sorted out a problem with my booking and organised us a taxi. Location in Canterbury city centre is excellent.
