    Nothing, it’s great

Old fashioned but stylish in a gorgeous location. Sheila the proprietor couldn’t be more obliging and is a fantastic host. Home made pub food is sensational made and served by the host. Shame I had to leave early in the morning as I would have loved to have had a breakfast

It was like walking into someone's front room, warm, cosy and welcoming. We had not long landed from a long haul flight and were tired and hungry. The landlady, Sheila I think, was lovely, firing up the kitchen to cook us a lovely meal. The room, lovely and clean was cosy but a little cold after we had been away in a hot country, but the bed and bedding was comfortable and warm. An enjoyable short stay, we were welcomed and included and will definitely stay again if down this way. There is also a huge garden with picnic benches and kids slides etc.

Breakfast was cooked well, I rated it excellent because the landlady has a great personality and she does a very good job especially she is over 80 years old. Wonderful.

As soon as I entered the brilliant Englands Rose I was greeted with a very warm welcome! I felt so at home. The food was hearty, and the room was great! Englands Rose is in the perfect location for easy access into Oxford, as well as the outskirts. I will definitively be returning in the future. Thank you to you all for making my stay a real pleasure, and being so welcoming. Highly recommended

Nothing that we didn’t like. Downstairs the bar and dining a little dated but this was fine for us, we felt adding a little to the charm of the place.

Shelia the host was absolutely fantastic she could not go out of her way more to help in anyway she could, treated like family friends rather than people who popped in for two days. Also the three bedroom room we stayed in has been tastefully done and there is an en-suite which we had not expected when we booked. Lovely large garden especially good if you are bringing pets.

Sheila is lovely and very helpful. She made me something off menu due to my dietary requirements. Nothing was too much trouble for her. I loved the quirky English feel to the place. Lovely local walks and a great base to explore nearby towns and of course Oxford

If you are looking for a sterile regular, where no one talks to you, this is not the place. If you are looking for a unique and memorable experience, this is the place. Full service by wonderful staff. A little bit of ye olde England, great rooms with every service, a nice pub and small cosy restaurant. Good pub food. Great English breakfast or whatever you prefer,
