The budget room I had was a little tired decoratively , especially the bathroom . Furniture was mismatched too

Lighting in the room not good for reading and the bathroom mirror too low.

Food was excellent: simple menu but well cooked and presented. Local meats seemed very good. Staff very cheerful and accomodating. Good views from the dining room.

The setting of the shower temperature was very difficult to regulate. In the morning when we turned it on. We had to set it again as the setting we left it in meant we had to set it on a different position to get it warm

Ideally for me breakfast could have started a little earlier but I can’t really put this down as a criticism as they arranged for me to have a coffee, toast, serial, yogurt etc before the official start time. So a big thank you really.

Its easy to miss the hotel. There could be more lighting/sign post to say the hotel was nearing/ nearby/ so many yards etc as I missed the hotel and its not easy to turn around especially on those roads with cars behind you. Didnt realise the breakfast finished by 0930 am. They could have mentioned the breakfast times when I checked in. I had a long drive so would have been pleased to have a good breakfast before hitting the road.

The wedding venue was close by so it was very appropriate for my stay. They serve me toast and scrambled eggs for breakfast although I missed the breakfast. I assumed breakfast would be open till late as it was a Sunday.

Recently varnished tables in the conservatory had a sticky feel to them. They were clean though. A tablecloth would have overcome the problem

The bathrooms are adequate but a little tired. Outside I think there could be more umbrellas.

I have stayed at the Pilgrim many times and always enjoyed it. The rooms are a lovely size , and the beds very comfortable. The views are amazing.

Shower valve/ water flow needs attention, breakfast for the extra £19.85 each day was shocking,poached egg, no toast!!!!, apart from that enjoyed stay.

In a location like Herefordshire you might expect better provenance of the breakfast items. I appreciate that hospitality is recovering from the covid dearth of business, but you might expect local artisan bread and heritage meats.

The view across the valley and its, particularly, evening light was astonishingly beautiful, as were the rabbits. Sitting on the hotel's terrace was also magnificent.

Extremely disappointed with the evening meal, and would have gone elsewhere if I was on my own. As the chicken and rice/noodles had to have chilli I couldn’t choose it, I am not a curry fan, the duck couscous dish was sold out,and so I was left with chips, chips or chips...not a non processed potato with vegetables in sight. Not to worry I thought, a nice fish starter should make up for it. The prawn and avocado was sold out, so thought I would go for the fish combo....straight out of a packet of Young’s breadcrumbed fish...nothing fresh /non processed about it.
