The rooms are not to the standard, there’s no fridge, iron in the rooms. You can hear other people talking and any noise coming from outside the rooms

Hearing waiting staff having conversations with each other across the dining room Think theres a lack of experienced management on that aspect Having to wait excessive amounts of time for breakfast basics to be replenished Lack of place settings at breakfast, despite knowing how many people are in the hotel Overall appearance inside and out, appears to be run down and poorly maintained

We had a 'yappy' dog in the room next to us on arrival. We have dogs at home so booked this knowing that there would potentially be dogs there. This was when the receptionist kindly moved our room for us which we feel was to a higher quality room also in just as good a location. We were only over for 4 nights property hunting but this made all the difference of a quiet room at the end of our busy days.

We loved the location and the atmosphere of this hotel. The staff were super friendly and helpful when we had a slight issue upon arrival. Breakfast was a good quality but a little more variety would have been perfect. The last 2 days we were there there was fruit and yoghurt as an option which was nice to have, but unsure why this hadn't been there on the 2 days prior. Even a toast machine would be good, or rolls and meat/cheese as a continental variety. We have noticed that this property is up for sale, and can only hope that this stays as a hotel in the future as if it had a bit of money spent on it I think it could be even better.

Shower in the room was not controllable. It was either too cold or too hot. Didn't manage to get cleaned at all.

The grounds were reasonably well kept, the receptionist and the bar staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The lounge is cosy and comfortable. The location is spot on, walking distance to the beach, shops and bus stop.

Paid extra for a "private viranda" this turned out to be two slabs that ran around the hotel that people used to walk their dogs and get from their room to outside.🤦‍♂️

The hotel was very nice, the staff were very friendly and the best thing was they clean your room daily compared to other hotels. The bathroom was very good and some rooms have showers and some have bath with shower. The hotel has lots of history to it.

Carpets were stained and should be renewed. Radiator was only just warm enough for the size of the room.

Good breakfast, large bedroom and bathroom, bath in bathroom, lift to first floor, & plenty of parking space. Red squirrels in the large garden were a nice surprise.

We arrived a little late, 10:35pm went up to our room dropped off our case and down to the bar, after a long journey I wanted a pint. The bar was closed and the bartender had cashed up. We were not the only people to get there late and go down to the bar the following morning talking to others in the hotel they were there before us and the same was said to them I think maybe keep the bar open a little later I know about the cost of bartenders but maybe the people on reception could man the bar that is my only gripe about the hotel except the toilet wouldn’t flush but it was sorted the following day. The tv could be a little larger and closer just a small niggle

The breakfast was very nice but a little cool, the cleanness of the whole hotel, the staff were brilliantly polite, the beds were good and comfortable, the location was in a very quiet spot, the gardens well kept there were red squirrels running around we will be staying there again.

Was a little run down, wallpaper peeling and not matched paint touch ups. Blind in bathroom was broken. Walls VERY thin we heard the people next door.

It was a very old building - looked castle like from the front. Lovely outside area, would be lovely in the summer. Lots of parking, great location as not far from the beach front, probably a 10/15 min walk. Beds were really comfy, clean sheets, powerful and hot shower.

Bar was hit and miss for drinks and closed early. Seemed like the young staff couldnt be bothered to keep open past 22:30 one night and 22:00 the other. Other guests were puzzled by this also. All they wanted to do was congregate in the reception back room.
