I had a downstairs room and the window did not have a safety catch to limit how far the window could open. I did not want to leave the window open, so the room was a little stuffy in the morning. Not a big thing.

It suited my needs very well.

Had booked room 3 and had it confirmed. However on arrival we were informed it was not available. On the plus side we were offered a room that was just as nice. We have booked an August stay in room 3 so we were not put off. We have been frequent visitors for many years.

The lack of a lift was a disadvantage but staff were available to carry cases up or down stairs.

The choice and standard of breakfasts was excellent

Breakfast very good and staff very friendly. Convenient parking beside the hotel and easy walking access to the medieval city of Rye, both much appreciated.

A convenient hotel for Rye with good parking

Bed came with a memory foam mattress which we struggled to adapt to on our 2 night stay. This is obviously a very personal thing so just an observation. The bed also had a terrible squeak when you sat on it and the frame needed tightening up where the headboard joins it. It was okay when we laid down to sleep so we didn't report this until we checked out - the receptionist thanked us for reporting it. The restaurant is currently closed in the evenings (April/May). Not great on a Sunday night as there is not much open in town either. We were quite lucky to find a nice place to eat (Webbe's Fish Cafe) which we can recommend.

Room had everything that you would expect and a bit of a view. Bathroom had a opening window. Breakfast was good with decent cooked and continental choices. Friendly staff. Hotel quite convenient for Rye town - just a 5 minute walk over the river bridge. Availability of parking was a big plus. Not sure where you could park if staying in the centre of Rye as it is a very old town with narrow streets.

separate faucets for cold and hot water, which is very inconvenient at least for the foreigners.

Conveniently located , easy to find, close to everything and easy to get to the center of the town on foot. Free parking on site. Clean room, good bed, tea pot provided. Very tasty freshly cooked breakfast for everybody's liking.

All i saw was an improvement really

A difference is occurring here under Di's leadership and it shows. Rooms and general feel was that the hotel was cleaner and tidier. Big thing for me is the parking and that its a 5 minute walk into Rye centre. Its still a basic level hotel but one that is on the up i would say.

The facilities are a little tired and could do with a makeover.

Friendly and helpful staff and pleasant riverside location. A short walk on the riverside path to the town and convenient for the bus and railway stations. Rye is very well connected by public transport so no need for a car.
