Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe WiFi is not so strong in the room which was a little unfortunate because I couldn't make use of the working desk as much as I want to. But it was okay for normal browsing.
The hotel has very good location close to Sakuragicho station. It is ideal especially if you want a quiet area and still stay very central. There are many coffee shops and restaurants around. The room was spacious, very clean and had a separate area with a working desk. It is a great hotel where you can rest and sleep without surrounding noise. They also have a restaurant where they serve great coffee and sweets. I would choose this hotel any time again when in Yokohama.

United StatesIt's a bit worn out, the carpet in the room had some stains and walls had stains.
The friendly staff helped me immensely! They let us check in a bit earlier and night staff called for us to reserve a spot for YCAT bus at the end of our stay . Also, they provide lots of free extras, like make your own bath salts. It's located close to lots of prime locations to visit.

NetherlandsBed was not to our liking. Too soft. The bathroom mirror has a heat function, so it doesn't fog up. But it doesn't shut off, so the bathroom was a very, very warm place.
Cute hotel in Yokohama. Amenities on the first floor. Smallish room. Bed was okay. Vending machine available on the floors of the rooms. Window can be opened for airing.

United StatesGiven its proximity to the train station, you could hear the trains departing, which could be bothersome for light sleepers. This didn’t cause any issues for me, though you should ask for a room at the front side of the hotel if you think it could be a problem.
Very nicely styled hotel in good neighborhood close to the train station. It also is walking distance (15 minutes) to major attractions like the harbor and Ferris wheel, restaurants and shopping.

AustraliaThe way to the hotel is quite confusing. The instructions to exit via nearest train exit does not apply to those who do not own an IC card (which most tourist don't have). We had to walk a detour route in which we got a little lost due to the many overhead bridges in the same area. We had 4 luggage with us which were very inconvenient for getting up and down the bridges on some part of the journey.
We liked the little touch of attention to details such as a vanity mirror with lights which also serves as a bedside table unit. The self service station for bath salt to sooth our tired muscles after a long day of walking.

IndonesiaHemm..if you have big luggage, quite hard to bring it. Need to go around using the elevator in the bridge from train station.
Love this hotel. Near the sea. You just need to cross the bridge to get to train station. Near bus station also. There is Seven Eleven near the hotel. The scenery was awesome from the room. And you could have your bath salt in the lobby. Nice! There is a restaurant but for breakfast and lunch only. It was nice, though quite expensive. But it is worth it.

New ZealandNoted above
The hotel is excellent. The complimentary bath salts a nice touch. A beautiful smell as you arrive and the reception area enjoys this aroma. Only negative was the morning set offered was soup. Very nice I’m sure but I think they would get better custom with a more traditional version. Coffee and eggs. Also the nearby train line is very noisy. You get used to it though. I would definitely stay here again as the good point of this hotel are excellent

Hong KongThey offer a counter to make your own hot bath aromatic sachet. That makes up the lack of a common bath house. Quite a sweet gesture. Also they provide water machine for cold and hot water (important for Asians) which is perfect if you are environmentally conscious and bring your own bottle.
