Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Germany...unfortunately they have a really weird system of having to give them the shoe key when going in the hotel and having to give them the door key when leaving the hotel. That makes it quite annoying when going in- and outside and I wish they would get rid of that. I also had a night with some troublesome guests who were really loud and most likely drunk. One of them was in the capsule above mine and fell down and somehow kept laying there and blocked the entrance to my capsule. I managed to at least get out somehow and since I didn't want to do have any problems with other guests I notified the staff about it. I only got asked if I want another capsule, so I asked if it's okay that someone fell down and is just laying in the middle of the corridor. The response was "Well, he is sleeping, right?" After a moment he decided to join me back up to take care of it, but that experience and the way it got handled wasn't really pleasant. The location wasn't great in my opinion. I'm currently not sure how far it is from other places that might be interesting for other people, but at least when I wanted to go somewhere or go back to the station I always had to wait, because there are lots of railroad tracks and I think I never had one time when I could pass without trains passing by. Might not be a huge problem for most people, but it's still annoying nevertheless.
The onsen and sauna were really nice and would be a reason for me to visit again, but...

United StatesThe bathouse felt grimy, especially inside the hot and cold pools. Definitely needs a pressure wash. Also, it didnt apply to me as a man, but i realized that the bath and sauna was only accessible to men which isn’t fair to the ladies.
The capsule was very comfy and luxurious and felt clean. The staff was very accommodating and very friendly.

United StatesThe shared toilets and bathroom were a little bit grungy and the spa baths aren't available to women, so the bathing aspect of the stay could have been better, but the showers had good pressure and temperature control, and there were an assortment of products to use in the makeup room, so it was still decent. The socket inside my capsule for charging electronics only worked intermittently. I tried both the USB and the regular socket, but it only sometimes worked and kept cutting out. Fortunately, I had booked one of the capsules with a desk and I had no trouble charging my phone from that outlet, but I would be concerned about being able to charge electronics if staying in a regular capsule.
This was my first time in a capsule hotel and I wasn't sure how it would be, but it was quite nice overall. The capsules were roomy and the bedding was comfortable. The sleepwear provided was comfortable as well. There are massage chairs available to use and these were a highlight of my stay as they felt particularly great after a stressful day of traveling. The staff was friendly and gave us some recommendations on where to eat as well as generally making us feel welcome. I was a little worried about sleeping in a room with so many people, but the capsules also had fans that could create white noise to block out most sounds, so my capsule felt decently private.

AustraliaThe common areas were quite stuffy and it smelled of stale cigarette smoke in several areas, the breakfast was served too early and options were limited. The lockers were exactly opposite the sleeping capsules ... there was a lot of rustling late in the evening and early in the morning not great when you need some sleep. We stayed in much nicer, capsule hotels in Kyoto that were much nicer and more value for your money
The spa an sauna was good. Very friendly staff

United StatesBe aware that smoking is allowed in the public lounge room. There are no individual shower rooms besides the one inside the spa.
The capsules are extremely clean and have multiple power plugs. Fast, efficient and cheap place to stay when traveling with curry breakfast included. Nice onsen-type spa experience. Staff knows English and Japanese.

United StatesHonestly, I was sexually assaulted in the bathhouse on the 2nd floor. It was a whole situation. I wasn’t sure exactly how it was handled. I checked out the next day and the person who sexually assaulted me said bye as I checked out. I’m not sure what the policy is but i feel He should have been removed. I can send the screenshots from the situation after.

GermanyShower rooms and make-up rooms were in another area, which was good, but lockers were in the same area as the cabins. In the morning and night, when other guests open and close their lockers, it was quite noisy and I wasn't able to sleep well.
My cabin and other rooms were all very clean. Hotel toiletries and amenities were also very good.

Germanyspa only in the daytime from 12-6 pm. Not the best noise isolation.
Very clean and very nice workers. The other women were very respectful. everyone tried to be quite in the sleeping area, but the isolation between beds is not good so bring some earplugs! very nice Spa, but sadly only usable from 12-6 pm. would be much better if it could be used in the evening. The hotel is very close to the station and one can find good restaurants and combinies. There are shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer and straightener and even a massage chair free to use. The best capsule hotel I had so far.

JapanI wasn't sure how to use the lockers at the spa, so I couldn't put my bag away. They were all locked. I probably could have asked the reception but if it were easier then that would be nice.
Great looking building, interior was attractive too. The 24hr reception spoke some English which was very helpful! The capsules were comfortable, and the capsule room was nice too. I liked that the lockers were very close to the capsules. The bathroom was very nice too. I loved that they had lots of manga in the relaxation room, a microwave too. The smoking room is convenient for those who need it, something I don't see in other hotels. It's great they have dryers too.
