Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumIt is known that the Japanese can be xenophobic towards anyone who is non-Japanese, and we felt it in this hotel. We were observed via the cameras in the swimming pool and, as soon as we finished bathing, an employee appeared to measure the quality of the water and pour chlorine.
After 3 weeks immersed in Japanese food, we appreciated Western food.

PhilippinesBreakfast options never change, as is the custom in most Japanese hotels.
Well known brand delivers to expectations. Location might be far from the station for some, especially if carrying big luggage. However, there are many good budget friendly eateries and restaurants around the area, plus two Family Marts right beside it. There’s a Sugi tax free store and Don Quijote store a stones throw away, for your bring-back-home finds. One can walk to the main Nagoya Station (it’s a good 15 to 20 minute walk), but the nearest subway station (Fushimi) should also suffice. Breakfast has a good spread, however, like nearly all hotels in Japan, the choices never change daily. Room is larger than the average room in Japan, for the same price range. Staff service is exceptional, quick to respond to our every request (extra sheets, etc), and nearly everyone can speak English fluently. They can also hold your luggage for you if you have 2 legs in your itinerary (we stayed for a few days first, then went to Kyoto, then came back to Hilton for another few days). This was definitely a plus, since we did not need to bring all 3 luggage with us and we did not need to rent a storage locker in the station.

SingaporeThere's no lift from the subway exit 6 of Fumishi. Hence we took taxi to the hotel instead . They are building a lift now but still work in progress
Room was spacious for us family of 4 including a cot (provided by hotel without fee) Breakfast was good. My family enjoy having breakfast every morning. Staff at breakfast was very friendly especially to our baby/toddler. Ms Tsuta (if i didnt get her name wrongly) speaks good English having worked in Singapore for a long time. Location was good. Plenty of F&B options. 1 711 and 2 Family Mart nearby. 1 Starbucks (if you really need this) nearby. For us, the best was the availability of big pharmacy and Don Don Donki nearby which let us shop to our hearts content Taxi ride from Nagoya station (from JR Shinkansen taxi stand) cost us JPY1,300 Taxi from hotel to taxi stand at Takashimaya side of Nagoya station cost us about JPY800

United StatesI was awaiting a sister I hadn't seen in over a decade and she ran a little late. So my daughter and I ordered from a cafe on the first floor and waited. When my sister did arrive, as can be expected, we got carried away in our conversation. However, every now and again, I let a mindful eye roam the room, checking the cafe's capacity in terms of body: seating ratio. Anyway, after less than an hour of my sister's arrival, Ms. Ohguchi from the cafe, who had served us previously, took it upon herself to approach the table and ask us, in not so many words, to continue to patronise the cafe or leave. She stated that each guest was being allowed 2 hours to stay there after ordering. Now, why this woman decided to approach our table of the several others where people had been for the same time as us may forever be an elusive question. But she ate into our time together, to repeat that we needed to order something else in order to stay. As there was no shortage of available seating her insisting this was lost on good sense and reason. Apparently, it was not enough that I was a guest of the hotel and that we were too full to order again. I cannot believe such short-sightedness from the Hilton. Ohguchi sucked the joy out of my reunification and my forming experience of the Nagoya Hilton all by targeting us, the only clear foreigners in the room.
I loved the Chinese restaurant. I still recall, with great alacrity, their delicious menu. You can expect exceptional service from the wonderful assistant manager, Ms. Kawashima, for the Japanese and Chinese restaurants. She advised we try the shrimp mayonnaise. It was heaven in the mouth. The reception staff at check-in provided a flawless check-in experience, from the taxi to the hotel room.

JapanThe hotel itself is bit old (though the inside is super clean!). Bit pricy compared to the quality, if you expect a fancy hotel for staycation. But overall it was a nice experience.
