Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThis hotel has several buildings and the building we stayed in was terrible because it was full of stairs and no elevator. In order to reach our second floor room we had at least 3 parts where we had to go up and down the stairs. Even from the entrance to the building there was no smooth way over the small stairs. It was a trouble for us because we have a 4 years child and a baby so we were full of luggage. But happily the staff of the hotel helped us. Also we didn't have wifi in the room and we had to pay for amenities and onsen. So we definitely don't recommend it for families with babies, charged with a lot of luggage and kids, nor for disabled persons because it's impossible to go up and down all those stairs and uncomfortable to ask the staff of the hotel for help.
The location was great, in the middle of the forest with a beautiful view and fresh air.

JapanI know this is an old hotel and the first place we arrived at seems a bit creepy for us. Thank God after calling from their old hotel lobby we were transferred to a less older version of the hotel. Gives us very old style Japanese vibes even in the rooms with their designs and furnitures. But we were surprised that we had a sound sleep during our stay. Though at room 228 my brother told me there’s a bug 🐜 crawling at the entrance of their room. The place is huge so be sure you have company as always.
There were some staff who can fluently speak english. The place gave us countryside vibes and is literally located in countryside of Japan. So if you want a peaceful & relaxing place to stay , this is the place for you when in Izu or after you went for a swim at Shirahama. About an hour from Shirahama Beach in Shimoda. They have onsen and indoor pool as well. I’ve noticed a free shuttle bus going to the onsen , spa & pool.

JapanThe guest house wasn't very clean and as we entered in it we saw a big cockroach running in the room. Also the location of hotel was outside of city which was very inconvenient. If you have dietary restrictions please make sure you carry your food with you or at least have a meal before entering the hotel property. We had to go out of the hotel property to have dinner because they could not provide us anything. Also the breakfast prices are very high and not worth it.
We liked the facilities such as onsen and the property of the hotel. The guest house given to us was very spacious and had all the facilities.

JapanNo security and less lighting outdide. It's difficult to go out after dark (from one block to other). Furnishings and fabrics were aged and need replacement. No food options if restaurant is not pre-booked. Need to travel downhill 5kms to convenience store. No coffee set in Japanese style room.
Onsen open till 12am. Several types of spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Clean bathroom and toilet. Coffee set in western style room. Air-conditioning controls are good. Yukata for kids.

Cyprus1) Well, some of the room furniture and hotel facilities (the outdoor playground/mini golf for example) might need a revamp as a bit old. 2) That lack of Wifi in the room. I believe that being in 2022, having Wifi available in your room is a definitely must...I instead had to go to the lobby to get some work done....Indeed, please invest in a few rooters...yes, it is very much needed. ;)
Loved the super large family room. Lovely tatami rooms with futons. Indeed a bit old furniture, but still very nice and spacious. Very nice onsen. With the kids we also had fun playing badminton, ping-pong and basketball. All free of charge. Very nice experience for all at a very reasonable price.

JapanThe check-out time is a bit too early, at 10:00 am. If it could be extended even to 10:30, it would be much better not to hurry in the morning.

JapanHomepage and actual place 2 different worlds. ホームページ内容と実際がぜんぜん違います。The photos are Very Inaccurate! The homepage boasts: wi-fi, indoor swimming pool, designated smoking areas, sports facilities, and NON-SMOKING ROOMS. Not TRUE! When booking I was led to believe I could get a non-smoking room. Only after I had paid and kept pushing, I found out not an option. Maybe in the much more expensive Guest House. The online help was meager and unhelpful, even writing in Japanese. Not good! The 'Cottage' rooms are big but are old and musty and well, smell of decades of cigarette smoke. There is NO Wi-fi in the 'Cottages' Just a few, far 'wi-fi' spots. No indoor swimming. An older, but fairly nice Japanese onsen (spa). There is no 'sports center' just a very old gymnasium with some basketball hoops and ping-pong tables with numbers hastily written on pieces of paper. Rather sad. The 'buffet' meals are very basic and very very over-priced. You are trapped there so if no transportation you are out of luck, so if no vehicle, bring your own food! The very expensive restaurant caters to golfers, a sign actually says that. So beware. Maybe 30 years ago it was a nice resort. Now it is just very over-priced and over advertised and mis-leading. If you are a non-smoker, BEWARE.
We booked 2 nights and had a horrible room, in the 'Cottage' area. The people downstairs partied until 3 a.m. so no sleep. The staff felt sorry for us as the 2nd night also had a group of 7 people. They found us a very nice room in the 'Guest House' area. So half of our stay was nice. The staff, particularly Mr. Igo was very kind and helpful. Saw Mt. Fuji once, for a few minutes. That was nice.

United StatesService - there wasn’t any Dirty, dead bugs all over, furniture was at least 40 years old and had black stains where people had sat over the years. Tatami mats were worn with holes, smashed bugs on the walls, spiders everywhere, one was so big we thought it was a praying mantis. This was the worst place I can ever remember staying. It did have running water (the only decent thing)but the place smelled old, musty and has clearly been neglected for decades. It’s sad because the surrounding mountains are gorgeous and you can tell that at one point it was a beautiful vacation spot. Also - it is very isolated. Which would be fine if the space was decent and you could spend the day roaming around outside and return to comfortable lodging. Unfortunately, the facility was not accommodating.
The scenery was pretty

Hong Kongthe bathroom was not cleaned, I can smell urine in the toilet upon checkin, when I phoned the front desk about the missing coffee packs, I was told to go to their front desk to pick them up. We were assigned to a room one level down, we had to carry our luggage to the room and walked down the stairs by ourselves without any assistance from the hotel staff, there’s no elevator in the hotel. We travelled quite a long way from Canada so we had large luggage.
