The room was bit small compared with the rest hotels I stayed in Japan, I hardly to open the checked in suitcases. We had three suitcases and some bags, we were expected someone can help us to carry one or two into the elevator when we checked in, however it’s not a big problem if no one helps, we still can manage just had a hard time .

The location is great , next to everything but in a quiet area. The reception was really helpful and friendly.

Room decoration.

Excellent location, very close to Nishiki market, near the subway station and Within 10 minutes walking distance from Gion area. Stuff is very friendly and helping with everything. The rooms decoration is quite old fashion, but still very clean and comfortable.

The onsen also good is not too big. I mentioned the limited city view already. Massages are very expensive, I understand double the regular price because you are in an upscale hotel, but triple is exorbitant.

It is a very nice hotel with a good onsen, although the view to the city is not exactly what I expected, very limited. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is also very clean. Room amenities are nice and daily bottle of water is a nice gesture.

The cleanliness of the room was dubious to say the least. A pair of used underpants were found when we arrived and the bathroom sink hadn't been cleaned properly as there was dried toothpaste on the edge of it. Despite my best efforts with the shower curtain, water leaked all over the floor during each shower as the showerhead only pointed straight and not downwards so perhaps an adjustable position for this would help.

This hotel has a great location and easily reached by subway. The room was a really good size for Kyoto and was reasonable value. Pyjamas and slippers were provided for all guests which was lovely. The hotel is beautifully decorated and even has an enclosed church which was originally on the street.

Breakfast service was really good, but what was beyond expectation was the particular care taken to meet the allergies constraints (gluten) of one of the guests who was coeliac. Remarkable.

Staff aren’t courteous or helpful except a few. Hotel rooms are smaller and the bathroom fittings are cheap and very flimsy.

The breakfast buffet was average and quite expensive. I wasn’t on a tour package. Other places to eat close by.

Location was excellent! The temple across the street had the most beautiful cherry blossoms! Perfect timing for my stay! Very clean and I had a good sleep! Good pillows! Enjoyed the bath upstairs even if you had to pay extra. Was a bonus to have it there after a long day!

Great location. We got a quiet room out to the back and we could even open the window to a certain extent. The bed was huge, and comfortable. Great Breakfast buffet. Friendly and helpful staff. We really enjoyed our stay!! Would definitely stay here again.

We book a room for 4, although it was a bit tight after placing 4 beds but still have space to lay out the bags. And the best part is there is a powder room on top of 1 full bath. So if the bath room is taken up, there is still the powder room for others. There is enough mirrors in the room for rush hour preparation.

The air conditioning units maybe need to be washed or serviced more often as they're quite dusty.

Superb location! Walkable to a lot of tourists locations and shopping and restaurant areas. The staff were excellent and they spoke good English. No issues to get messages across. Close to the train station too so easy access everywhere. Rooms were clean but a little bit awkward with certain placement of things. Maybe they were doing the colonial style thing but I think maybe in small rooms it's more important to be practical. Room was esthetically appealing though. :)

The New Year's Eve dinner was a little disappointing considering the price and that it was New Year's Eve which is pretty big for us back home. We expected something better. We should also learn to manage our expectations.

The hotel was beautiful and centrally located. Walking distance from the Nishiki market and the more important shrines. Since we were there during the New Year's holiday, we heard the striking of the gong before, during and after midnight from the shrine. For me it was so magical because it was such a different experience. Right across from the hotel is a unique Starbucks with a shrine behind it.

Seeing the pictures I thought the Onsen belongs to the hotel, but you need to pay 1700 Yen

Breakfast is amazing so much to choose and good quality. We got a little upgrade and instead of a smaller bed next to the wall, a bit bigger bed with a step in at both sides.
