The breakfast time is quite fast, only 50 mins. No amenities in the bathroom but they have it in the onsen.

The room looks old but clean and quite spacious. The place was on top of the hill, walking there is a little tiring but they have a bus to take you to the main tourist spot and back (this also means the place have a great view). There are indoor and outdoor onsen as well as a sauna. The yukata are cute. Breakfast is a buffet with good food.

My non smoking floor has a thick ashtray scent. Supposed to be nearby sainokawa onsen which was why I booked it. Hiked through the forest to get to it only to find the path blocked. The front desk staff can’t speak basic English. I’ve been to hotels further from Tokyo and less popular with better English. The staff speaks accented Japanese which makes it difficult to understand. The souvenir store on the first floor was closed throughout. The hotel doesn’t take credit card payment. Only cash and smart phone payment. Isn’t enough power sockets in room.

Very outdated feel to the property - feels like walking into old apartments in horror films. Local Japanese visitors seem to have options for dinner menu but no options given to foreign travelers who booked through booking.com

Decent sized outdoor onsen with Mountain View. Room with same amazing view + balcony. Delicious dinner. Regular shuttle service to the main Yubatake area, it’s a bit far to walk.

A bit far from the centre. I didn't know that it's uphill walk to the hotel on the first day. However, after checked in i found out that there're shuttle provided on hourly basis. Only cash, no credit card accepted. Please bring cash!!!. The property is a bit "retro" style which is reasonable for the price. No amenities and hair dryer in room. Need to go to the onsen anyway.

Outdoor onsen is the highlight. Food is delicious. Spacious room, view from the room is superb. Can hear the water stream sound from a park behind the hotel. Value for money. Overall, it's a decent experience staying here.

The room lacked any soap which was a little strange. The bathroom felt a little unclean but since we used the onsen, it didn't really matter.

The breakfast was nice and had a wide variety of foods. The onsen was very nice and the outdoor bath was lovely, facing the forest. The room was spacious.

The room washroom with bath is too small and hotel shuttle to yubatake is not frequent.

The hotel open air onsen is very good with good view of forest and the breakfast is great with lots of variety.

The toilets are too small with no aminities. Beds are too small and not much comfortable. Hotel shuttle for yubatake don't run frequently and the walk back to the hotel is steep.

the aircon is very weak it’s not cold I think it’s automatically set, also don't have shampoo and other needs inside the bath in our room you have to bring your own

The walk back from town is up a hill. No problem going into town but coming back is quite an effort.

This was a great little find in Kusatsu. Because of the price, we went in with quite low expectations and this probably helped us to enjoy the place more. The onsen is great and was our favourite part of the hotel. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and the hotel itself is located about a 15 min walk from the main town. They do offer a bus service for those who can’t face the walk. The breakfast was simple but good. Coffee not so much! If you’re on a budget then this is a great stay.

Lots of Japanese style food to choose, good buffet breakfast. Location is good, walking distance to town Center. A good seventy feeling of this hotel, very good for value. Onsen in this hotel is much better then most advertised in town.
