How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Collection to and from airport an excellent service. Staff very friendly and happy to please. Food and beverage very well priced and good. Facilities a little dated but see refurbishment on the way!

Poor dinner restaurant experience, felt rushed like they wanted us out so they could set up breakfast. Waiter preening his hair in mirror then handling cutlery. Staff laughing and joking around, not a good look.

They have a"Pub" but that closes at 9pm so better just call it a restaurant as we wanted a drink when we came back in the evening but they told us they where closing up.

There is a free shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel which was perfect for us as we just stayed one night. Room was clean and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately we didn’t had the chance to try the breakfast as our flight was too early. Can recommend it.

Curtains don't block much light
Very comfortable beds. Like being able to leave the car on site, however it seems y expensive since we stayed. Friendly staff. Quiet

The Air Conditioner units out side the units windows. Very noisy made it hard to sleep.

The reception was great we arrived at 1:30am in the morning. Met Harmon he was great made it feel welcome and comfortable he heated our cold chips! Great personal touch. Unfortunately the television waa not working but they came straight away to help but we did not need the television. Because we were leaving early they rang for 6am alarm call. AAA++++Rsting we will be back and will recommend the Heartland Hotel Services to everyone!!!

A swivel cheari in the room for work if travelling on business......
The Shuttle Service gives Heartland the competitive advantage over others..We have always beens taying at heartland even the time of Ventura Inn and Then Bella Vista..Somehow lately, it is hard to find booking at heartland but its my preferred hotel whenever I come to NZ .

Shower not powerful but understand with conserving water ect , still OK though
Always stay here before going overseas, or even domestic down Seth as can leave car there, it's safe and secure and you park car yourself and take keys with you. Shuttle service to and from both air terminals, great staff always friendly and I had a lovely personalised note from staff on my arrival welcoming me back ☺ lovely touch

Rooms are a little dated and basic but very clean and this is reflected in the price.
Special thanks to the driver/night manager who picked us up and checked us in at 1am. He was such a nice guy! He literally walked me through to the pick up point over the phone, so we didn't go the wrong way and was great to chat to. Exceptional customer service. It's so close to the airport with a free shuttle. Would stay again for Auckland Airport.

Carpet bit scruffy in corridor on bottom floor. Drilling noise? in next room started before 9am. We were up but was impossible to stay in room and was a bit much when we didn't get in until very late at night..
Staff friendly & helpful. Shuttle service excellent even when came in on late night flight. Staff great & very helpful next day when car wouldn't start and helped us get it going.

Although all the linen had been changed in the bathroom I think the staff missed cleaning the bathroom - I did communicate this to reception in the morning which was when I noticed - (I checked in very late at night as was very tired) - - before I checked out and they were most apologetic and gave me beverage voucher.
Airport Shuttle service excellent and the breakfast was very good value (included in room price), communicating with the staff was easy and the end of the hotel I stayed in was quiet. The carpets are worn in areas and the curtains a little tired but my room was comfortable and dark for sleeping. Beware coffees etc are separate.

Always a great choice to stop the night before an early flight and for parking. Had a twin bed room which was really spacious and clean. Cumfy beds.
