“I just totally support the other comments about this fantastic hostel. Such a comfortable friendly vibe created by Pedro & Sarah. Best hostel I've stayed in !”
“A beautiful property in a wonderful location, 15 minutes’ walk to the village and perched just above the River Douro. Pretty bedroom with excellent bathroom, very well-maintained.
Fantastic breakfast, amazing variety and quality. Lovely staff, helpful and smiling.
Ate dinner in the restaurant just once, it’s excellent but expensive.
Enjoyed the wine & port tour & tasting, and a yoga session (in one of the port cellars!).
Also enjoyed the carefully mapped wallks through the vineyards, the longer one affording amazing views across the valley and the river from the top.
Staying at Quinta de la Rosa is expensive, but was a real treat.”
“The views were exceptional, with bedrooms having access to an outdoor terrace. The Casa was a great place for a group of friends to spend time together in the Douro. The dinners were very good and it was convenient to dine at the Casa.”
“Breakfast was great and very attentive service. The view at the property was truly stunning. The terrace was a heavenly place to relax and soak up the view. Paulo our host was just outstanding. He always had time for a chat. Our communal meal on the first night was a joy. Not often do you have the opportunity to have dinner with 10 other guests.”
“The view was amazing and the welcoming glass of wine was an added extra. The room was a nice size and very clean. Bernardo the owner was wonderful & so Paulo. Both made you feel at home. I would stay here again and definitely recommend this hotel. Especially quiet and so inviting. A taxi must be taken to the property so you may want to call the property or email in advance to arrange for a car, if you are taking the train or coming to Duoro Valley by boat.”
“Loved the amazing owner who was super helpful and great communication. Cute authentic place. Had everything included one could need. Fresh bread delivered to room along with other foods left in fridge by host. Lovely stay.”
