  • VILA 335 Trancoso Review score: 10

“Very stylish, generously sized apartments with comfortable beds. Just a few minutes walk from the quadrado where most of the restaurants and bars are located. Staff were excellent - they came and made breakfast in one of our rooms for our whole group so we could eat in the local style each morning. The manager (Iang?) was really helpful and friendly. He took us on a fun quad bike expedition to see some beaches off the beaten track. I highly recommend the property and would love to come back.”

  • AXÉ HOME Martha & Jorge Review score: 10

“I really enjoyed the hospitality of Martha and Jorge the place felt like home right away, just like I just got adopted into my new Salvadorian family. As a solo traveller, Martha pointed me into good directions and gave me the tools to connect with the local vibe and experience the culture. I deep dove into an afro-brazilian dance class (never been before) and I immediately made a new friend and had so much fun just like three hours after my flight landed in Salvador, this would never have taken place without Martha being the kind soul she is 💗 Breakfasts were yummy with loads of fresh fruits and Suvo's, cozy times shared with my new French and Uruguayian extended family and the family doggy sleeping just under the breakfast table for extra extra cozy vibes. A good day to start my day without needing to search for breakfast places. On my last day, Jorge took some extra time and walked me to my bus/ ferry station, explaining and touring me around as he was heading in the same direction, helping me with sorting out me ferry tickets. It's not only about the place so much, but it's more about the people that make this place so heartwarming and home feeling. As a solo traveler, you also meet and have breakfasts with other travellers around the breakfast table. At the end of the day, we sit in the sofas and show our photos and share our daily experiences - re telling the tales of what we just learned from the different museums, where we went for lunch etc.. Great stay and the most lovely hosts you can ever find! Magical thank you Martha & Jorge I will be back ✨️”
