  “We stayed at Rivas B&B for 2 nights. We had originally booked-in for 1 night, but our experience was so fabulous that we decided to stay for a 2nd night. Our host was very helpful & informative, and always on hand for advice & suggestions. Rivas has a fabulous deck & swimming area. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of choice. Our room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Taxi boats will drop & pick you up right from the Rivas deck. The island is nice and quiet, with Bocas Town a 1/2 minute taxi boat from the accomodation's deck. Overall a really enjoyable stay, and we would highly recommend Rivas B&B.”

  “The lodge sits on a large beautifully maintained property. There was a small but excellent reef right off the dock for snorkelling and there were also many starfish (there is snorkel equipment available for free). We enjoyed the complimentary use of kayaks - one day we paddled about an hour to Hospital Point which had a beautiful beach and great snorkelling. Another day we took a short paddle to small river lined with mangroves. One morning we ventured on a trail further into the property to find dozens of red frogs (be sure to wear proper hiking footwear). The breakfast was plentiful, although it would have been nice to be offered a second cup of coffee. We enjoyed the pizza at lunch. I loved waking up to the sound of birds and lots of squawking parrots!”

  “Very generous sized room with a lovely bathroom. Great mattress and lovely balcony. Able to borrow snorkeling gear. Breakfast vouchers for different restaurants. Really good coffee free of charge.”

  Dolphin Bay Hideaway Review score: 10

  “Dolphin Bay Hideaway is absolutely lovely. We stayed at Casa Piedra which is a detached villa some 10 minutes walk away (through a jungle path) or a 5 minutes boat ride from the main lodge. Lots of room, views over the bay, a fully functioning kitchen, gardens and direct access to the private jetty with paddle boards and kayaks. We had our own chef, AJ, who came over from the lodge each day to prepare breakfast and dinner using provisions he'd brought over from Bocas Town. It was a delight staying at Casa Piedra from start to finish. The owners, Brian and Amey, made us feel very much at home and nothing was too much trouble. Brian is full of knowledge about the area, the flora and fauna, and the way of life and organised a number of trips for us. Amey invited us to join them and other guests for a lovely dinner at the lodge on our last night. We were sorry to leave. If we are fortunate enough to visit the area again, this is where we would want to stay.”

  “The place is beautiful, right on the water, beautifully decorated and overall just very comfy. The room is lovely and bed comfortable, and I really liked the outdoor shower. Breakfast is one of the best I've ever had in this type of accomodtion. The staff is super friendly and helpful. 10/10 would recommend”
