“Casa dos Almas is simply a magical place, a peaceful accommodation located in front of the sea on Mendihuaca beach.
We stayed in a double room with a sea view located on the second floor. If we could describe our room in one word, it would be cozy. Everything was very clean, tidy, and beautiful, with a spectacular view of the sea under the shade of an almond tree. The bed and bathroom were very comfortable, and the room had a fan (air conditioning is not needed with the sea breeze).
The accommodation has very comfortable and pleasant common areas. We had the option of breakfast included, but we opted for the "Napolitan eggs," which were very delicious. Thanks to Maria and Ela for everything, very friendly staff. Joseph has been one of the best hosts we have met, making our experience much more enjoyable, always attentive and kind. He instructed us very well about the place, helped us with everything we needed, and guided us on some activities like the Cacao Tour; he knows a lot about the area and told us about the culture and biodiversity.
Probably many have not heard about Mendihuaca beach; it is a recent destination for tourists but offers tranquility and spectacular landscapes, located a few kilometers from Tayrona National Park and with easy access to the city of Santa Marta and nearby places of interest like the Sierra Nevada, Palomino, and other beaches. There are various activities available such as kayaking, surfing lessons, massages, among others, and transportation to other areas of the region is easy through moto-taxis. The local cuisine is not very extensive but offers more than enough delicious options, with Humbe as a recommendation, though all the restaurants we tried were delicious.
We highly recommend this place for those who want to spend some time disconnecting and relaxing.”
“Absolutely loved our stay at Sintropia. The cabañas are well equipped and extremely well designed with panoramic windows on all three sides. The property itself sits on a truly magical land which boats countless mango, passion fruit, avocado and mandarine trees.
The hosts, Luis and Marilyn, were extremely hospitable. They made it feel like a home away from home. One evening, my partner had an upset stomach. We asked Marylin if they had any medicine to spare us. Instead, Marylin went and plucked a few herbs from her garden and told us to make an infusion out of it. She initially intended to give us some bicarbonate with lemon but ran out of lemon. You can be sure that she had it ready for us first thing the next morning. Not to mention the home cooked meals that were delicious!
This place was hands down the highlight of our trip and we can’t wait to visit again.”
“+ Staff very friendly and nice. Patient with our attempts at Spanish. Helpful with advice.
+ AC in room was good, although not needed really as it was cool enough but good to have for when you were a little hot.
+ Filtered water in the kitchen.
+ Location is good. Not far from the centre at all, easy to walk.”
“Perfect location 5 minutes from the national park. Lovely spacious pretty much brand new room, delicious breakfast and pool well maintained. Owner spoke no English and us no Spanish so we are grateful for her friendliness and patience during our stay!”

“Loved our stay here, Edwin and Fernanda are wonderful hosts. So welcoming, kind and very sweet with our young daughter. The room was comfortable and clean, had a fan and the AC is available at certain hours. The WiFi is excellent especially for working and there is plenty of space around the hostel to sit and work or relax and chill. The kitchen is big with basic cooking essentials, enough to cook any meals you need to. They also kept our bags secure while we visited Tayrona for the night. The location is very close to the mercado, local buses to Tayrona, Minca etc. and also within walking distance to the city and local beach. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the very relaxing vibe.”
“We had an amazing 2-night stay at the mundo nuevo lodge. The room was comfortable and the staff were lovely. We ate most meals there and they were all delicious. There's so much to do/see, from bird watching to coffee tours to hiking to waterfalls. The views/sunsets were wonderful. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Colombia.”
“Ramon and Paola bring you down to earth and make your soul at peace. They are perfect hosts and make delicious breakfast. The place is beautiful, with many friendly animals. Its walking distance from the tayrona entrance and also has other lovely walks and rivers nearby. I could not recommend more.”
