“Simple accomodation but excellent for the price. The room had a fridge, tv, air-con and tea and coffee making facilities. Everything in the shower room worked as it should. The location is both convenient for the local bars and restaurants, but also a lovely spot in its own right with pleasant views over the bay.”
“Hydra is not a cheap place to visit so it's good to be able to stay somewhere located just a few metres back from the quayside yet still quiet and very reasonably priced. In addition, the really excellent view over the town and harbour from the balcony in my room was a real bonus.
Yes, the rooms are small and a little old fashioned but they are well managed, kept very clean and are absolutely fine for short stays. Also, the bathrooms are modern.”
“Liked everything about the Angelica! Customer service was amazing, friendly, helpful & very informative. Beautiful, comfortable traditional room with fabulous large deck. Location beautiful, peaceful, lovely hillside views & only a short walk up from the port. Courtyard area for breakfast or just relaxing in during the day. Breakfast very good in general but would have liked the addition of fruit to have with cereal & yoghurt.”
“I travel a lot and all too often encounter accommodation where the owners have no clue what they are doing apart from taking your money. Gigi Rooms are not one of these. Quite the opposite. They know exactly what they are doing and cheerfully provide exactly what a traveller needs with commendable attention to detail. They really have thought of almost everything.
In fact, I am struggling to think of a better example of this kind of accommodation. It's well located halfway up the hill in the centre of town, spotlessly clean, bright, stylish, quiet, relaxing and welcoming. And then there is the superb view over the harbour from the balcony and, as my room was the one on the end, a second balcony with a view over the town.
This place really is that good.
Oh, and the host's recommendations for eating out and snacks were all spot on.”
“I cannot stress enough how much I’d recommend staying at this hotel. I stayed here for 8 nights and then stayed for a few more at a far more expensive hotel which did not match in any way the Oltremare Inn. Mirco and his lovely wife provide the most exceptional hospitality - everything you could need is catered for - and they are great guides around the island going over and above. The breakfast was exceptional (and again far better than ‘boutique hotel’ offerings across the island). You get a true authentic Greek experience here. The room was large - exceptionally clean - the bathroom was modern and the bed was super comfortable. The location is quiet - away from the crowds - but so close to town via an easy walk and to a fantastic beach nearby within 5 mins. & you have a large quiet pool surrounded by nature where you can hear the birds- so relaxing and peaceful. You must make sure you stay here! I will definitely be coming back.”
