Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing really
Everything about this location was above expectations. Idyllic, relaxing and staff went out of their way to ensure a wonderful stay. Food choice was excellent and deliciously tasting and well presented. The private beach was clean and natural with lovely views across the bay to Phuket. Our transport back to Phuket International airport was organized by the staff. Timings for the pick up and boat transfers were punctual and trouble free. The staffs planning really took the stress of my return to the airport. I will return sometime in the future.

AustraliaTo do things outside the resort you need to hire a motorcycle or get a taxi. However the roads are quiet and relatively easy to navigate for a novice rider. Some shops have motorcycles with side cars which would be great for a family with small kids.
2nd time we stayed at this resort. This time in a superior suite which is much brighter and a little bigger than the villa. Lovely deck with sun lounges and out door massive bath. Gardens are magnificent. Staff warm & friendly, amazing restaurant with the most beautiful view of the bay looking back towards Phuket. Reception staff are fabulous and will organise any transportation you need. Activities room has kayaks, mask & snorkels to borrow. One of the prettiest beaches in Thailand.

AustraliaDon’t do the Ko Khai Nai or the Ko Khai Nok tours they are full of day trippers and jet skis from Phuket. Would have like it if the hotel staff had advised differently, but also my fault for not google it first. The pool is small if it is peak season and the tide is low.
Boutique resort located on a private beach. Villas are clean & comfortable, loved the outdoor shower. Staff are constantly cleaning the beach & gardens. Food at restaurant was some of the best I have ever had in Thailand. Fantastic cocktails at happy hour watching the sunset. Koh Yao Yai is a traditional fishing farming community. And despite its proximity to Phuket does not have much shopping. Only two 7-11’a. No bank a few ATMs not sure if they take non Thai cards. So bring cash. Hire a scooter from just outside the hotel and explore the island. Be respectful of the communities as many islanders are Muslim. Ie: swim wear is for the beach only. Note that the tidal difference is about 3m so at low tide some beaches become sand flats or rocky. Seafood is fresh but some items (lobster, king prawns, crabs) need 24 hrs notice. Which I think is great as you know it will be fresh.

United KingdomSome of the infrastructure is getting a bit “tired”.
Fabulous location on lovely sandy beach. Nice pool, restaurant and bar. Accommodation is comfortable and aircon was good, if a bit noisy. Gardens well maintained. Staff very helpful.

FranceIt is a bit isolated. So be sure to come here for a nice and relaxing quiet stay.
The property was very welcoming and the staff very nice and helpful. Rooms are super comfortable with outside showers and big beds. The food at breakfast was amazing and different everyday. The restaurant at night on the beach was also very good and with a crazy sunset view.

PolandDuring high season it's hard to book something, but that definetely means that hotel is great.
Absolutely great place! Quiet, very tasty breakfasts, private beach and awe-inspiring sunsets! For me the best place to stay on Koh Yao Yai if you like a bit of luxury, but not overpriced and with a bit of local spice. We rented scooter on northern part of island (cheaper then closer to hotel). Also - small gym, but almost always empty. If you need to do cardio or small workout - great. A place to chill. We'll be back for sure. Can't wait :)

United KingdomThe rooms are lovely and clean, aircon is great and the outdoor shower is a lovely touch! The staff couldn’t do enough for us and helped us book the mangrove kayaking which I highly recommend! The beach at the hotel is beautiful with plenty of sunbeds and an amazing sunset. You can rent a scooter to get across the island to Laem Haad beach extremely cheap, we had so much fun riding around the island exploring!

United KingdomThere was a bit of ant infestation in our outdoor shower. And it is a bit of a drive from the pier. But you can book a taxi for an additional fee. But none of this took away from the amazing experience.
An unbelievably, beautifully furnished and decorated villa with its own personal infinity pool overlooking the sea. This was such an idyllic setting located on the beach front.

United KingdomMy husband wasn’t keen on the platform bed! (A bit hard on the old knees getting up & down)
Lovely quiet sandy beach with Plenty of sun beds. The beach has a very big shallow shelf (which is exposed at low tide) so you can stand up a long way out & it’s nice for snorkelling. A little rocky - wear swimming shoes! Cute rooms (with fridge) & I liked the outside shower. Delicious food in the restaurant (in a beautiful setting) & not really more expensive than the 3 nearby restaurants (which are on the road & the food is nowhere near as good) Decent breakfast. Cocktail happy hours! Lovely staff. Rent a scooter - they’re great fun:)

BelgiumPrices, in general, are too high. We only had dinner once in the restaurant, because on the street corner, the restaurant is half price for the same. The resort also feels a bit dated, so the high accommodation prices don't feel correct. Pick up from the pier for 30 minutes is 600 baht.
We had a great stay and enjoyed our villa with a private pool. It's great to relax and quiet location. Great breakfast options.

United KingdomI loved everything.
I liked everything. Food was very good from the restaurant albeit more expensive than outside but that is to be expected. Close to shops and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable with good aircon. The pool looks nice if that's your thing but the beach is beautiful. Not good for snorkeling though. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I don't usually want to go back to the same place but this is an exception.
