Mostly the pillows.

This hotel is exceptional. The rooms were clean, well stocked, loved the large lotion, shampoo, shower gel and conditioner hanging on the walls in the bathroom in good sized bottles. The pillows could use updating as they were pretty flat but we made do. If you don’t use valet parking, you have to park across the stree in a multi level parking lot with an elevator and cross bridge to the hotel. Love the security of having to use your room key to use the elevator in the hotel. There is a train track that runs very close to the hotel and the trainl runs all day and night and blows the horn pretty loudly, so if you are a light sleeper this may be an issue. It didn’t bother us. I have to say that although the hotel is exceptional, their biggest asset is their staff. They go above and beyond to help customers! I was extremely impressed by all of them, including valets, front desk, housekeeping and restaurant!

I booked the hotel for Modesto Marathon. The starting line of the marathon is right at the corner so it's very convenient for me. There's a garage right across the street for 12/night so parking is no issue.

Love the free cookies, the use of the wifi printer, the two free bottles of water, decent selection of TV channels. Comfy beds, roomy interior and modern shower and bathroom plus the soap, shampoo and lotion.

Our first room smelled of smoke and I called downstairs and they happily switched our room with no problem. We appreciated that.

We stayed here for State Cup Soccer tournament. Parking was easy and it was very close to great restaurants (Fuzio and Commonwealth was delicious!) We also noticed extra security patrolling the hotel. There are some homeless near the train station a couple blocks away and they had people near the door making sure guests were safe. Good hotel for pets too. Lots of grass around the hotel.

There was a pair of woman's underwear hanging in the shower when we arrived. The staff promised to re-clean our room before the end of the day but, didn't. To compensate we were upgraded to a nicer room for the remainder of our stay.

The location and condition of the hotel are good. The bar and restaurant setting is friendly. Our room was upgraded due to a cleanliness issue in our bathroom.

Someone came to my room saying that we ask for A plumber to check the if we have hot water problems We didn't ask for the service. When we opened the door he come right in glans the whole room like he was looking for something and left. We got scared. I called the front desk to check on him and let me know the findings, but no one got back to me.

Staff went above and beyond to assist us. Food and room were great. Hotel was clean, well decorated and everything worked well Close to Gallo Arts Center and Hotel provided shuttle both directions. Bar let us order food as they were closing

Having the bar open earlier so that you can grab a quick bite upon arrival would have been perfect.

Was modern and clean; had valet to avoid the parking garage option, and valet was not much more expensive than daily parking fee. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable, with crisp sheets, lots of pillows.

The Railroad runs right through the center of Modesto about a block from the hotel. It seems like a train comes by every 2 or 3 hours and Blows Its horn the whole time. I would suggest getting a room on the other side of the hotel so you won't have to hear the railroad so loud. The parking is in a multi-level garage across the street. So be ready to haul your luggage or pay $17 for valet service.

Some sprucing up of the common areas would make it look less dated. Otherwise it is fine.

Room was large and clean, staff was very nice. Hotel needs an update. It is looking a little old and run down especially in the hallways. No business center. Restaurant was ok.
