Bathroom floor between tub & toilet was very dirty and untouched. Lots of dingy spots throughout the room - like dirty handles, spots on the walls, just felt not thoroughly cleaned. Elevators were very slow and not sufficient for the patron traffic during our Sat night stay. We had to take the stairs several times and thankfully were only on floor 4 - but with a bad knee, it was painful.

Great location. Nice ambience in the hotel. Super friendly and helpful staff - above expectations. Kept our bags after checkout was really handy. Liked the lobby/lounge area w shuffleboard and pool table.

The downtown area is rather bleak, though this is not the fault of the hotel!

The restaurant food was unusually good for a hotel. The bar was good too.

Parking is a disaster. The cheapest option we could find is a street parking garage for $30 per night. Given how expensive Magnolia is, the parking could be free or for a reduced price.

My wife and I were traveling from Virginia to Colorado and needed a place to stay in St. Louis. The hotel is located in the center of the city, within walking distance from the arch. The staff is nice and helpful, we really enjoyed the complimentary milk and cookies (cookies are awesome!). The room was spacious and clean.

Our Deluxe City View Room had two windows - one which peeked out into a square on the back of the hotel and another that looked out on to a fire escape and the building next door. Definitely not what I would consider an amazing view, but at least we could sort of see the city. I wish the room had better lighting over the large full-length mirror, and although I appreciated the seating area the coffee table was giant and oddly shaped (circular) which meant I banged into it when I got up in the middle of the night. Also, the only parking available is valet and it is very expensive.

We loved our stay here! This hotel is gorgeous. I absolutely loved all the details, stained glass, and chandeliers in the lobby and dining area! Our room was a really good size and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The shower's water pressure was also great. This hotel is located a little further from the arch than some others but is still in a great location.

Parking was expensive at $48/overnight. St. Louis downtown, in general, is not very safe by all accounts.

Broken AC, a little "old", some staff were less helpful than others, very small elevators.

Our AC went out one evening and we had to be moved to a new room. The new room felt a little less clean. The mattress was probably the best I have ever slept on at a hotel. Normally it takes a few night for me to relax and it was very relaxing the first night! Until of course I woke up and it was 88 degrees in my room! They did try to fix it and ultimately moved us. The rooms are definitely in a old building but felt relatively nice. Plus they were very spacious. Very beautiful entryway.

Uninformed of major interior construction prior to check-in, Construction began early morning and lasted past 5-6 in evening both Friday and Saturday, Construction could be heard clearly in our room on the 3rd floor, Door to our room stuck and was difficult to open, TV remote didn't work, Restaurant Breakfast Buffet had minimal options and pastries were hard as a rock, potatoes tasted day's old, sausage tasted boiled in grease.

Valet was very convenient, Free bottled water at the front desk, Staff were very friendly, Bed was comfortable, Room was clean, The food from their menu was good and the Bartender's made great cocktail's.

In the check-in process, the front desk upgraded me to a suite without asking or telling me. I appreciate it but wish I was told before I went up, especially since I arrived at night and was tired to ask for a change. The layout design of the suite was great, but there was no phone in the bedroom, just one in the living area next to the TV, and not even wireless, so I had to stand next to the TV whenever I made a phone call. The bedside tables and coffee table were old and required a change. There was no interaction with me on the lobby floor from the hotel staff. The staff should have shown more hospitality and a welcoming spirit. I am not saying they were bad or rude; no, they were very respectful and always smiling. Also, the amenities were not changed or the coffee station refilled during my stay even when I asked for that it took more than 2 hours and three calls to have the staff bring it to my room.

The building has historical charm and was within walking distance from other locations I wanted downtown. The restaurant has a delicious menu, and the staff was wonderful. The Christmas decor was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable, and enjoyed my sleep throughout my stay at the Magnolia, and I am thankful to them for that.
