Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Saudi ArabiaHotel is itself very old and they can't do much about it. The vintage look, old carpets, smell etc are bit a drag otherwise it was a nice hotel. Telephone at my room didn't work on the very first day. I tried to call reception but failed. I reported T reception and one technician came to replace the phone. But no use. Same was the situation till the day I checked out. If I needed anything from reception I had to go all the way to the lobby level to meet them which was something we don't expect in a 4Star hotel.
Stay at Magnolia was pleasant. Staff were good. Food was also nice. Bar tenders/ waiters were courteous. Even though i stayed at 17th floor maneuvering between lobby to room was a breeze due to the fast lift. Toiletries were good. Room was kept tidy every time all the time.

United StatesBathroom floor between tub & toilet was very dirty and untouched. Lots of dingy spots throughout the room - like dirty handles, spots on the walls, just felt not thoroughly cleaned. Elevators were very slow and not sufficient for the patron traffic during our Sat night stay. We had to take the stairs several times and thankfully were only on floor 4 - but with a bad knee, it was painful.
Great location. Nice ambience in the hotel. Super friendly and helpful staff - above expectations. Kept our bags after checkout was really handy. Liked the lobby/lounge area w shuffleboard and pool table.

United StatesThe downtown area is rather bleak, though this is not the fault of the hotel!
The restaurant food was unusually good for a hotel. The bar was good too.

United StatesParking is a disaster. The cheapest option we could find is a street parking garage for $30 per night. Given how expensive Magnolia is, the parking could be free or for a reduced price.
My wife and I were traveling from Virginia to Colorado and needed a place to stay in St. Louis. The hotel is located in the center of the city, within walking distance from the arch. The staff is nice and helpful, we really enjoyed the complimentary milk and cookies (cookies are awesome!). The room was spacious and clean.

United StatesOur Deluxe City View Room had two windows - one which peeked out into a square on the back of the hotel and another that looked out on to a fire escape and the building next door. Definitely not what I would consider an amazing view, but at least we could sort of see the city. I wish the room had better lighting over the large full-length mirror, and although I appreciated the seating area the coffee table was giant and oddly shaped (circular) which meant I banged into it when I got up in the middle of the night. Also, the only parking available is valet and it is very expensive.
We loved our stay here! This hotel is gorgeous. I absolutely loved all the details, stained glass, and chandeliers in the lobby and dining area! Our room was a really good size and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The shower's water pressure was also great. This hotel is located a little further from the arch than some others but is still in a great location.

United StatesBroken AC, a little "old", some staff were less helpful than others, very small elevators.
Our AC went out one evening and we had to be moved to a new room. The new room felt a little less clean. The mattress was probably the best I have ever slept on at a hotel. Normally it takes a few night for me to relax and it was very relaxing the first night! Until of course I woke up and it was 88 degrees in my room! They did try to fix it and ultimately moved us. The rooms are definitely in a old building but felt relatively nice. Plus they were very spacious. Very beautiful entryway.
