How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Could have had a fridge and water in the room

Room for improvement: the bathroom is very comfortable and it has a tub, but I would recommend to update the bathrobes and towels to match the quality of the bedroom because they seemed really used.
I loved the location of the hotel, it was very central and close to everything that I wanted to do. The room was nice and comfortable and the toiletries were good. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Possibly the bar hours/selection of premium liquor, but we had an overall amazing experience at this hotel.
Location was amazing; staff went overboard to make check in/out pleasant and fast; very personable door staff. A pleasure in every way!

I didn’t like that we could still hear so much street noise even on the 14th floor.
The location was fantastic, the property was lovely, and Lenny the Doorman was the BEST! So nice! The food was amazing! Try the truffle fries, so good!

The interiors need updating. I expected more information about the hotel, restaurant, ect. in the room but needed to get it online. The room was very warm and didn't realize that the room's have unit wasn't on. Wish the staff would have informed us that we would need to turn it on.
The staff was very accommodating. Location was right off of 5th Ave., so the location was in walking distance to many sites. Facility was very clean.

Sofa bed for the children was not made up on arrival. They were no drinks in room - we had requested a kettle but it wasn’t there. No complementary water. Had to request a drinks tray. Power went out in the room. Our room was next door to the lift shaft and you could hear the lift going up and down constantly. Room was very dark. Didn’t refresh the room, yet again we had to request this.
Excellent Location. The staff were extremely friendly and professional and the bed was comfortable. Hotel easily facilitated a late check out.

The Omni's national computer system was down for days in part or in whole, depending upon the time of day. For the reason, they could not make room keys upon arrival or until the next morning. That said, the staff setup wine and snacks to compensate for the longer check-in process, then had a manager escort us to the room to allow entry with his master key. The local staff did an excellent job of handling the national, system failure.

We had an unusual elevator experience. It felt like it dropped precipitously for four floors, bounced, paused, we held our breath, the doors wouldn’t open. Then it very slowly descended two more floors. Opened on a random floor, and we walked down the stairs. We informed the staff who said it would request service, but they didn’t close that elevator. We were surprised. It seemed concerning.
We were next door to our daughters! The room was clean and comfortable. Loved the bath products!! Great location, close to MOMA , theater and Ess a Bagel! Some of my favorite things in the city. Loved the essence water near the concierge desk. Staff was lovely and responsive!
