The mattress in the main bedroom was not very comfortable but it was very spacious, which I liked. The aircon is a bit outdated, but it kept the room cool on these hot days.

The cottage was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The staff was friendly and helpful.

After a very positive stay in a calm and tranquil environment, we suffered somewhat of a shock to the senses on our last morning, when a kind of crop spraying commenced by plane (can't say what type). Probably this comment is relevant to other local properties and not unique to just this place, but we felt relieved that we were packing to leave just then. Unfortunately.

Kids' play area was fun. Breathtaking views. Exploring the farm. Indoor fire on a cold night.

Staying at Eikelaan Farm is a bit like dropping out of reality: the comfortable, pretty cottage, the view of the mountains, the rolling green fields, the singing birds, the stoep, the quiet, the wide open sky. We loved every minute of it.

    Nothing.

Beautiful location for rest and relaxation. Peaceful surroundings and comfortable, spacious cottages. The perfect place to unwind with scenic walks around the farm. Old-school kitchen ideal for self-catering, including braai facilities and home cooking. Stunning mountain views with a soundtrack provided by the geese, birds, and sheep. A stone's throw from the working farm facilities but far enough for privacy. Gorgeous old farmhouse and deli with the option to purchase organic fruit and vegetables. Owner, manager, and staff are exceptional. Generator plus DSTV and WiFi. Hot water throughout the day. Swimming pool. We hired 2 one bedroom cottages for a family visit. A wonderful farm experience - will be back!

Hmmm.. I can't think of anything major. The only thing I could recommend is to maybe add stepping stones or a stoned pathway from the chalets to the pool area as when the weather is rainy our shoes got all covered in mud. But this is to be expected on a farm.

I loved the braai area near the pool. The chalet itself was very cosy and the beds were SUPER comfy. Not a super fancy place but it was exactly what we paid for.

    Nothing not to like

Lovely place and very kid friendly too. We had a very pleasant stay at Eikelaan Farm Cottages. The accomodation was clean and very well equipped for self catering and the kids absolutley loved the play area. The staff are very friendly and Joy is such a great host...just prior to our arrival, we received an email to say that we were upgraded to the 2 bedroom cottage at no additional cost. They also have some yummy goods and fresh produce at the deli on site. Will highly recommed this place to anyone seeking a home away from home. Thank you for your hospitality Joy.

I think it is worth noting that the one-bedroom cottages are right next to each other- so if you are only renting one of them, you are a very close to your neighbor. This was not an issue for us, because we rented both, and it worked out lovely for two families. I'd suggest that they take more pictures to show the cottages inside and outside to get a better idea of the setup and proximity to the other house.

The cottages are roomy, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the farm life feel is great for the kids and dogs. The fireplace kept us warm on a wet Saturday night. Beds are big and comfortable. It's far enough from town to feel like you are on the farm, and close enough to still enjoy the wine farms and the beauty of Tulbagh :)

Throw a breakfast in and I would never have left.

Eikelaan was just supposed to be a bed to sleep in as we were in town for a wedding.. It was so relaxing and amazing that it turned out to be the highlight of the accommodation.

Great cottage. Lovely spacious bedroom, plush bed. Views. Quiet. Welcoming but private.  Small farm stall on the property a neat plus.  5min drive to town, restaurants and good wine farms. Loved it.  (Just a couple of chunky farm-made rusks, for those a little unprepared, would've been the gold star :))

We always stay at the house 2 bedroom , this time we stayed in 1 bedroom cottage as the house was booked already. The kitchen was very poorly equipped if I am completely honest , the toilet was leaking on arrival this should have been checked but was fixed which we appreciated. The baby cot needs to be replaced it’s broken ( net on the sides ) there is metal that is exposed on the outside it’s had it’s days.

Dec was our 3rd time for the year 2022 staying at Eikelaan Farm and we always love it
