Had no water for 10 hours due to road construction. But staff was very helpful. Dinner was not as good as we xperienced it 2 year prior. One meal ( Gnocci ) was absolutely terrible and was returned. They apologized and did not charge it.

I would have appreciated being informed that the bar closes at 11 pm. I ordered my last drink at 10:30 and couldn't order afterwards. No big deal though.

The view was not what we expected when the booking stated 'ocean view'. Our room did have an ocean view however you could not see it from inside the room only from the balcony. The food menu was limited. If you are staying longer than 3 days, you will find yourself repeating meals. The water shortage was also an inconvenience; water was unavailable between the hours of 21:00 - 05:00.

The food was superb. It was fine dining. The food had great presentation and tasted lovely. The hotel decor and furniture look great as well as the art on the wall particularly in the dining area. The noise levels were low even though they had events; you could not tell that there were other guests.

noisy (banging doors, grass cutting on a Sunday morning), the staff did not alert us to the fact that there would be no water after 8pm due to municipal upgrades, we had to request bottles of water to flush the toilet at 10pm at night. the resturant could cater for vegetarians better.

Firstly, not having a generator that can deal with load shedding i.e. keep everything going and not just essentials. Could not work on my computer, watch TV or charge my phone. At the price we paid for this room, and considering that it is 2021, we would expect the hotel to have enough capacity to keep everything running during power outages. All the other places we have stayed at in the past several years, have been able to switch seamlessly from Escom to generator power and back again. This was exacerbated by the noise of the generator which felt like it was just outside the window. Secondly: The toilet seat that doesn’t fit properly and won’t stay up… difficult when a guy has to pee and must contort himself whilst eliminating to prevent premature closure … ;) Lastly - very limited choices of TV channels.

Beautiful location, friendly and efficient staff. Comfortable bed, great breakfast. Shower that works properly.

I requested my room to be setup special due to anniversary however nothing was done to accomodate this. They don’t go the extra mile.

Entire property and rooms beautifully decorated. It was quiet and private. Even though there was a function downstairs the noise did not reach my room. It’s not on the beach but is quite central to both Durban & Umhlanga. The views from my balcony and our table at breakfast were stunning. Vegetarian(halal) breakfast omelette was delicious.
