Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It was my first time visiting the hotel and I loved my stay there. Location was perfect. I enjoyed the New year eve fireworks, was such a fantastic display. Beautiful views and very convenient to the restaurants, shops and even aquarium nearby. Breakfast was awesome.

South AfricaThe lady that helped check us in was very friendly, but there was someone else on the phone who did not even bother to acknowledge us. She made us wait so long after her call was done and still did not bother ... really bad first impression of the place. Our front-end staff should be friendly... even if you are taking a call. What she lacked, the lady who assisted us made up with her service delivery. There was a musty smell in the corridor and passageway as we walked to our rooms. The room was not prepared well. We had a long trip from Gauteng, and there were no towels, only a bath mat. When we finally got to the right person after calling the front desk for assistance ... the lady who delivered the towels brought only 2 bath towels ... no hand towels... no toiletries except for when we requested it. Better room preparation next time and maybe attention to detail .

South AfricaWe booked the Christmas Lunch at the hotel, biggest mistake ever! Saying the food was terrible would be an understatement. What a waste of money as it was +500 per person and we ended up not eating much because it looked and tasted bad. Absolutely no effort put in preparation. Book the hotel but make other arrangement for Christmas lunch unless you enjoy poor tasting food or would rather go hungry on Christmas Day. Good thing we had booked the breakfast.
Hotel was very neat and tidy. Rooms are very spacious.

The conveniency of the location. Seaview is just amazing. Sleeping with the door open allows the crashing ocean water to soothe you away. The buffet breakfast has a variety of options. Staff are super friendly and helpful.

South Africa1. No in-house halaal catering. Food needs to be ordered externally (pricey and at a surcharge, and it's not buffet). Would be nice if the hotel actually catered a separate section for halaal 2. Quite a bit of crawler/worm-like bugs around and in the pool. Also lots of alcohol bottles laying around the pool. 3. TV had dead spots. We complained and were moved to another room, but same issue and view wasn't great. We eventually moved back to our original room 4. Walked to the the Kauai down the road, but didn't necessarily feel safe walking outside the hotel (albeit on the promenade) Staff hospitality was exceptional though, and if we ever visited again, that would be the main reason for returning.
Stayed in the Suite with Sea View. Room was spacious and comfy. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony and looking out to the sea. Bathroom was also spacious. Towels were plenty and more could be requested if/when needed. Bottled water, fridge, kettle provided. Gym facilities and pool available and free to use

South AfricaThe sink was faulty in one of our rooms and hence there was no cold water. The other room had a bad odor from stagnent water and this created some dissatisfaction given that this is a top tier hotel. The rooms and corridors are getting dated and are in need of some maintenance or renovation. The food choices in the buffet was limited and perhaps, needs more choices for person who do not consume beef and pork. On arrival, our booking could not be found and this created stress on our part after a lengthy drive from Durban. This had delayed our check in process and we lost some downtime or relaxation time.
The hotel was modern and well situated. The amenities was good and staff were really accommodating.
