What I love about the area is how surrounded by the countryside you are. It's tucked away behind the Cornish hills where you can wander round 4 fishing lakes or even purchase a day pass to cast off, pet the stabled horses, donkeys, guinea pigs, or become a child again with your kids in the various indoor or outdoor play areas. Summer days, when the weather is kind to us, is perfect to swing open the terrace doors and watch the sun rise with a hot drink. Or if it's a cosy night in to pop on the heater and chill out on the sofa. There are some great places to eat in the area with St Austell just a short drive away, but our personal favourite we discovered is The Barley Sheaf in Gorran Haven.
