How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Mould in bathroom on ceiling and in grout. No extractor fan so this could be why.
Staff are so lovely. Dinner was beaut, and great selection of tap beers and wine. Bed was very comfy and a lovely view of the mountains.

Clean, tidy and owner, and other staff, couldn't have been more helpful. Nice atmosphere for an evening meal and great breakfast in the morning.

No food available, not even bar snacks, on Sunday evening even though there were 9 of us booked in. No separate relaxing area for residents only. Bar closed at 9.30pm.
Double Room with shower was nice if a little small but for one night ok. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very helpful.

There is a wine bar in close proximity to the hotel, because we went on a hot weekend and had to have the windoes open, it was very noisy until about 12.45 am ! I think it would be different if the windows were closed, but it was just too hot for that. Would have liked to be able to shower standing up and not sit in the bath tub.
The staff were fantastic and the food was very good. It's not too far from from goods walks, so the location is good.

Fridge in the room

The room wasn’t what I expected from the photo and carpets at entrance looked a bit shabby. Not much to find fault with, really
It was straightforward, comfortable and breakfast excellent. I’d worried about traffic noise as it’s on a corner but that wasn’t an issue at all. Loved the bath!

The extractor fan in the bathroom wasn't working so the room remained damp

All OK, thanks
We were allowed to enter from the car park at the back of the hotel, where we parked next to the back door. This made it VERY much easier for us than using the front door, lower down, as I am disabled. So I only had a half-flight of stairs to reach our room for which I am very grateful. The breakfast was delicious, too.

I would have liked the ability to open a window to get fresh air in and for their to have been black out curtains on both windows.
Amazing breakfast and the staff were as pleasant and accommodating as could be possible.

Room was nice and clean. The best part was the dinner & breakfast in the Pub and the lovely treatment by the team. We did just a one night stop over as it was on our way back. Perfect for that!

The towel radiators didn't work in the original room we were shown. And nor did it work in the second room we settled in. Despite being told they would have it working by the second night, they still didn't work by the time we checked out. As this place doubles-up as locals pub, it can get quite noisy/busy especially on a Friday or Saturday night.
The staff were very friendly, always at your service when we needed something. The breakfast was a small selection from a menu, and was very good. We had dinner one evening which was excellent and probably one of the best during our stay. The room was clean and adequate.

I don’t understand how the hotel can have 4 stars. No late check-in available, no in room service, not even the telephone in the room.
