“The owner was really communicative and we were greeted by him and his wife when we arrived. They cleaned our suitcase and gave us hotel information. Their English is excellent and they have good information about sights in the area and restaurants which they offered to make reservations for if we wished.
Really helpful maps of the area in our room which was spacious and clean. There is a microwave and plates and cutlery for guest use. Although you can't see Mount Fuji from the hotel, it is visible once you cross the mountain and we spent a day with it in clear view all day which was wonderful.
There is a great variety of things to see and do in and around Hakone and the wider area of the lakes. We had a great 3 night excursion from Tokyo. There are buses but we had a hire car which gave us more flexibility,
I highly recommend this for the service from the owner and his wife.”
“The guest house’s location was very close to Gora station.
The WiFi was very strong.
Towels were provided and we could have used the kitchen.
The terrace was very nice.”
“Both the room and shared bathroom were clean. The next bus stop is not far away, but if you have to go to Gora train station, I would definitely recommend a taxi. Google Maps will advise you to take the bus and have a short walk, but the short walk turned out to be quite a hike”
“We loved the accommodation, family of 4 sharing a room. Felt very authentic. Staff were lovely. Nice bar area, limited menu but tasty, good choice for drinks. They offered a natural onset which we used and enjoyed. Location was good, just a few minutes walk from the station. Shared kitchen and bathroom facilities, but clean and private. Recommended after a stay in Tokyo. Get the Hakone Freepass and this is an ideal start for the railway, ropeway and pirate ship cruise.”
“Great location, Fujisawa just few walks away. Hotel also provides lounge service from 3pm to 9pm for us to get some drinks. There are restaurants around the area. Stayed for 2 nights there to visit Kamakura.”
“The ambience of this place is very cozy and intimate. This is one of the accommodation I had been to where I can slept throughout the whole night.
The private onsen”
