1) Hot tub was cold - Santa Monica is colder than inland LA so even in July was a bit cold going in the pool. 2) Pool was only 3.5ft deep and not very wide - there is a big terrace they could expand the pool which would take the hotel to another level in terms of facilities quality 3) My wife found the pillows too soft so lacking support so has a sore neck (though perhaps a point of personal preference)

The onsite restaurant Catch was disappointing in the quality and non seafood selections. The seafood was overall good. The chicken offering was almost unidentifiable and had poor taste. There was not really any shopping for basic needs such as chapstick, deodorant or anything you may have forgotten on premise. Had to use a delivery service for anything needed.

The view of the pier was great. The location is right on the beach and is near everything you may need. Staff was helpful with recommendations and was accommodating to requests. Security in the area made us feel very safe even later at night. There was live music in the evenings and overall a great vibe to the place. Terazza lounge has a great menu and was perfect for breakfast, lunch, and cocktails.

The common areas i.e., hallways outside the rooms could use refreshing up. Pool was very small but I found a fantastic public local pool just up the the road from the hotel, (Santa Monica Swim Centre on 16th street which I highly recommend if you are looking for proper morning lane swim). Shame there are not more outdoor spaces for just sitting and having a drink and enjoying the lovely beach area.

The rooms were lovely with great attention to detail, I was given extra, water, towels and coffee after the first day from housekeeping noticing my needs without having to ask.

The live music on our first night was far too loud and unpleasantly so. I was surprised no guests complained or manager rectified it. The music after that was still loud and ambient but didn’t go overboard

Wonderful location on a beautiful long stretch of white velvet sandy beach. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and obliging. The facilities were very good and the hotel was pleasingly comfortable.

The dining room for the Catch was closed, the hotel looked only half full of guests at best, yet I had to pay a premium price due to season flucuations, wasn't too happy about that.

The room was excellently appointed and extremely comfortable, the spa was the best my wife had ever had. The staff were extremely freindly

We loved our entire stay and I can't think of anything that wasn't perfect.

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Casa Del Mar over the Christmas Holidays. We were traveling with our 5 month old daughter and a lot more luggage then we were used to. That said, when we arrived at the hotel, the entire bell team around Kyle and Eric was incredibly helpful and the valet service was absolutely excellent during the entire stay. Our check in experience was excellent as well and Saule who handled our check in was an absolute blessing and became an instant friend for our little daughter. During our stay, we spent a lot of time in the lobby that is absolutely gorgeous and frequented the restaurant for breakfast where we received excellent service from Wahid and the restaurant team.

Breakfast was very simple and not so exciting. There is no beach access through the hotel, although the hotel is in front of the beach, so weird. We had get out of the hotel from the back (main road) and walk around the building to access the beach, not very convenient.
