Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaBreakfast was the worst and really a let down. The only reason you didn’t get a 10/10 rating. I have attached pics below under room, bathroom and lobby. That overdone egg was meant to be an omelette, ciabatta burnt and inedible.
Beautiful spacious suite in a beautiful decorated setting. Dinner at the private cellar was exceptional, clean plates all around. Spa treatments were top notch too.

South AfricaI think they don't allow outside food in the premises without permission but it doesn’t seem like much of a strict policy.
I always enjoy my time at this property. It has everything from very friendly, thoughtful staff to a great service. I came with a Newborn and there was a cot, baby muslin towel & bedding fit for little royalty. For the adults, gowns & slippers to help us relax in our temporary home. Facility had an in-room fridge we could use for baby milk & a sink to sanize baby things and get coffee water from. TV swivels so you can watch from bed or mini loungette. Everything is available quickly on call. The breakfast is to die for. The property is beautiful & there's a mini cinema to wind down at and a spa. There's also a mini gym for fitness fanatics on the go and the art meets music aesthetic of the place makes the boutique hotel feel like an out of town remote spot that's still close to useful amenities and a stroll to the beach

South AfricaThat I didn't stay longer. Loooove it 🥰 Adding an electric blanket would be great also but it's really a perfect place. I wish I'd stayed longer.
Everything. It was perfect and I loved every moment of it. The staff was amazing and as a light sleeper, it was super quiet. Everything was perfect and birthday spoils were everything. I got a birthday card and a bottle of sparkling wine. I love it and love you guys too much. Can't wait to return 🥰

South AfricaMy wife's main course dinner - she ordered fish, and it was full of bones, and the vegetables (Broccoli was overcooked - like it was brown, and the squash was undercooked - butternut/pumpkin should not be el-dente), we made mention to the waiter, who in turn notified the chef, and the chef didn't bother to come and talk to us. The starter portion calamari wasn't up to 5-star standard, but everything else we had was really nice.
The room was larger than expected, which was nice; the bathroom was really nice, the lighting in the room was great, and the art and service were amazing. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and especially given that I'm a tall person and in most hotels, my feet hang off the end of the bed - the bed was wide and long enough that I could comfortably ly down on it without my feet dangling off.

South AfricaThe hotel was just beautiful, amazing artwork and paintings. Awesome facilities. Very Clean. The staff were so friendly, from the time we arrived until we left, they went above and beyond, they made us feel like royalty. We really enjoyed the breakfast and supper, the chef really outdid themselves. The location was also great, we could walk to the beach and take a lovely stroll. There's also a mall close by (Boardwalk Mall), walkable distance. We felt very safe.
