Dating back to 1438, the historic Cathedral Gate is in the heart of Canterbury.
“The location - literally beside the gate into Canterbury Cathedral - is superb. The young man at reception couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The building is quaint and full of character - including a great little terrace at the back where you can sit with a nice glass of (very reasonably priced) wine and enjoy a stunning view of the cathedral by night. The hotel is spotless throughout and the rooms are tastefully decorated, with nice quirky touches that complement the atmosphere of the place wonderfully. All in all, a real find!”

Situated in Canterbury, 16 km from Canterbury Cathedral, Bridge Cottage boasts a restaurant, spacious garden and free WiFi. Free private parking is available on site. The rooms have a flat-screen TV.
“Our bed was very comfy, soft and firm. The breakfast menu had varied choices catering for all tastes. Furniture and fixtures in our room were all colour co-ordinated. The natural daylight flooded into our room. By one very large window with a beautiful view of the garden and wildlife. Watching 3 baby rabbits play at twilight was a marvellous experience, we took many photos. On the other side of the room was an above average window, casting daylight into our room. The bathroom has a marvellous shower with plenty of room to move around. A large cabinet on wall to store toiletries. Shower cleaner was supplied thankfully. The abundance of hot water was a bonus. The idea of choosing your breakfast from their varied menu the day before was an excellent idea. Even though their were other guests in the B&B guests were able to choose a slot between 7am & 9am. With a choice of sharing the breakfast conservatory with other guests, also ensuring guests breakfast were piping hot. The well kept and cherished gardens were a delight to sit in the sunshine or walk our black Labrador around, or play with other guest dogs. The flat screen TV aquates to the size of our room. Sharp images and colours, plenty choice of channels .”

I would even recommend to rent entire house if you are a family or a group of 4. The owners are very nice and the house is close to the center. St. Peters Street is a self-catering accommodation located in Canterbury. Free WiFi access is available. The property is 400 metres from Canterbury Cathedral.
“Our host Richard, was very kind and met us at the railway station and settled us and our luggage into the appartment. Which is ideally situated, being only a few minutes walk from the Cathedral and major attractions. Although the appartment is on a busy througfare to the Cathedral, it was very quiet and I enjoyed a more restful nights sleep there, than at home. The accommodation was about 500 years old and very quirky with beams and uneven floors, which we loved. It was extremly comfortable and spotlessly clean, with beautiful bed linen and good quality soft towels. The kitchen was well equipped and the appartment had everything you could have asked for. If we ever return to Canterbury for a visit, which is highly likely, we will definitely stay at St Peter's Street again if Richard has a vacancy.”
