“This place is great. The staff is caring, personal and extremely helpful. It was like coming home and I'd gladly go back and stay longer if I could. The location is a bit off from Nagoya but in such a nice and serene area that I actually didn't even bother to leave Aruamtsi. If you want to see the "sights", it's a short train ride to the city and the station is only 5 mins away. The building and the rooms are classic, literally classic, tatami mat floors, fold out mattress. Breakfast healthy and very reasonable. Loved it.”

“Watanabe has a fairly low score when compared to the actual experience staying there. It is clear that watanabe is more popular for its dining than for its lodging. Still it is a ryokan in a quiet area at a very affordable price serving an excellent japanese style breakfast at a very competitive price. The staff were always nice although having very little english. I overslept the checkout time and they simply let me sleep. While booking singles, we were provided double rooms (12 tatamis). I will stay again there if I return to Nagoya. I had a chance to be part of a business dinner at Watanabe and it was simply excellent japanese fare.”
