Flat was well located for travel around London and Esma was a great host. She stayed to hand over the keys in person, gave some tips for the area and left some tea, coffee and bread which was a nice touch

Enjoy the best of both worlds in Rotherhithe: a charming village in the city, steeped in maritime history. This modern, one-bedroom flat, in the London borough of Southwark, is on the first floor, with three balconies, and is located on a quiet cul de sac with park views of the King’s Stairs Gardens. Southwark Park is just across Jamaica Road, the River Thames is at the end of the street, and Tower Bridge is 1.6 miles along with the popular walking/biking Thames Path. Your stay includes free private parking with CCTV, WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen (with microwave and washing machine), and one bathroom with a bath and shower. For public transport, there’s easy access to the Jubilee line at nearby Bermondsey or Canada Water Underground stations, the London Overground at Rotherhithe Station, and a myriad of buses offering easy access to all parts of the city. The nearest airport is London City Airport (4.3 miles from the flat) or a tube ride from Heathrow Airport takes about 1 hour (Piccadilly line to Green Park, then change to Jubilee line to Bermondsey/Canada Water).
Local attractions include the historic Borough Market, trendy Maltby Street market, the Bermondsey Beer Mile (railway arches housing over 15 craft breweries and 2 gin distilleries), the Brunel Museum and Thames Tunnel, Bermondsey Street (home to Zandra Rhodes’ Fashion and Textile Museum, the White Cube art gallery, Eames Fine Art Gallery, and some of London’s best restaurants including José Pizarro’s tapas bar and newly opened Pizarro restaurant). St Mary Rotherhithe Watch House serves great coffee and pastries, while you have three pubs within walking distance. The Mayflower is the oldest pub on the Thames and the original point where the pilgrims set sail for the New World in 1620, captained by Rotherhithe local Christopher Jones (who’s buried across the road in the graveyard of St Mary’s church). The Angel also boasts riverside views, while the Ship is a more traditional old English boozer (for those looking for some local character!)
