Welcome to Woodpecker Lodge! We have recently renovated the lodge and given it its own new balcony and private enclosed garden, we couldn't decide on the bathrooms so they have stayed the same for now! We enjoyed getting creative with the decor and hope you guys like it too! Our little sausage dog love the garden! We state this is a dog friendly lodge with an enclosed garden but we do have some 'gaps' in the patio fence designed to take some flowers which are currently still growing away so if you have a little Houdini pup then please take a close look at the photos or if you arrive and you think your furry friend may be able to make a break for it then do please drop me a message right away and I shall make sure to secure the garden for you as soon as possible :) The whole property is non smoking although if you are out in the patio away from the wooden balcony then that should be fine. We have a hammock and outdoor rugs in the spotty room wardrobe, some outdoor throws in the green room wardrobe and some picnic bits and a cooler under the bed in the jungle room, with more cushions outside in the black chest should you be lucky enough to get some of our glorious Cornish sunshine snd fancy spending time out in the garden, bbq and fire pits are welcome just please leave the fire pit on the patio and keep the bbq away from the wooden walls and balcony.
We moved here recently to our dream equestrian small holding and are in the process of renovating the gardens and the house, now having finished the lodge, all except for the two bathrooms as I haven't decided on a theme as yet! we especially love that we can sit down at the end of the day in our garden and hardly know that we are near a main rad but when we've got somewhere Ito be, then everywhere is pretty accessible!
Our lodge is nestled in the heart of the countryside, peaceful enough that you can make the most of your down time and relax but also close enough to local amenities that you're not too far away from civilisation, were in between two holiday parks with various facilities, were right next to a bus stop, Newquay town is approx 9 minutes away in the car, with local coops, Asda, Tesco, Aldi, lidl, sainsburys and Morrisons a few minutes drive away. There are plenty of beaches to choose from, with the closest one being 4.2 miles away. Across the road there are fishing lakes, entertainment and a swimming pool, further on down the road there is a safe "wellie walk" for those of you who bring dogs, there are many woodland and moorland dog walks around here aswell. We are in a quiet corner of Whitecross with horses, birds (if you look closely you may be able to spot our resident Woodpecker!) and wild animals so we appreciate guests looking for a quieter retreat style break away from the hustle and bustle. We have Truro, Newquay, Wadebridge, Padstow with easy reach so plenty to see and do. We can give details of cycle hire, surfboard hire, paddle boarding, horse riding, windsurfing, jet skis, diving activities if your looking for an action packed break, or we can supply details of private chefs and beauty therapists if your idea of a holiday is a more relaxed one !
