    “Dear Booking, Dear Bourgogne suite Maastricht, I am still incredulous and extremely disappointed and shocked by what happened yesterday afternoon at the bourgogne suite Maastricht. We arrived at the hotel at 6:50 PM, rang the doorbell, and no one answered. We immediately called the phone number three times but no one answered. We waited in front of the entrance, but no one was there. We did not receive any calls or messages to inform us that they were waiting for us. We were sure that everything was well arranged for our stay, so I didn’t check the 2 email sent by booking.com (hotel policy) right after confirmation also because I was driving the car. I don't understand why they didn't call us to let us know they were waiting for us? We were already in Maastricht, and it could happen that emails are not read because one is enjoying free time in holiday modus. It seems like they deliberately want to steal money from customers. They just left a sheet attached to the front door with written: ‘You can only arrive at 15:00-15:30 and tried to contact you by phone but couldn’t reach you, therefore: NO-SHOW and your booking is not valid any more. Nobody called us to check if everything was ok or if we were arriving; They wrote in that sheet that they were open between 3pm and 5pm (check- in was between 3pm and 3:15pm) : so why didn’t the hotel call us during this 2 hours? this looks like a waterproof business model to guarantee payment without any work. Forced to find another accommodation, I managed to find a room in another hotel in Maastricht at 8:00 PM. I truly wonder if booking can accept such deceit. I rely on compensation from Booking and on the guarantee of your platform to protect customers and not profit at the expense of unsuspecting and honest people. Ps. Please find attached a picture of the letter Bourgogne suite Maastricht left at the front door and a screenshot of my received and made calls yesterday (we called them 3 times.”
