  • Yufuin-Sanso Waremokou Review score: 10

“The place is very welcoming and cozy. The staff is super attentive and helpful. The room is equipped with 3 onsen baths which are fantastic. Breakfast and dinner are excellent and allowing to experience the variety of Japanese cuisine (though the amount of food is really really huge).”

  • Beppu Showaen Review score: 10

“Beppu Showaen is a beautiful ryokan. Our experience here was the best during our stay in Japan. The staff is amazing - so kind, so helpful and so happy to help always! It was a pleasure interacting with all of them and they truly made our stay even better. 11/10! Our private family room was authentic and beautifully maintained, complete with our own balcony overlooking the stream and so very peaceful. We also enjoyed the private and public onsen within the property which was the highlight of our stay. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to visit again!”

  • Yamada Bessou Review score: 10

“Amazing stay to relax and enjoy the calm vibe if this place. Beautiful details everywhere including the onsen and the best breakfast we had in a while. Staff super helpful and kind. Thanks Beat”

  • “The room was huge which was lovely after the small rooms you usually get. The private onsen in our room, overlooking the ocean was a highlight and worth the money for the room. There was also a little sitting area to look out at the ocean which I loved. The room was clean although a little dated. The hotel also has a gym and some onsens for most guests to use.”

  • “The Ryokan’s owner and staff were very accommodating despite not fluent in English (they used a translation app to comms with us). Meals were a delicious challenge (there was just so much yummy things to eat!), the family onsen next to our room had an outdoor onsen which was pleasant to use (water was cooler). Amenities were abundant, room was very clean, futon was very soft and fluffy to sleep on.”

  • Hotel Seawave Beppu Review score: 7

“- Location is good, just beside the train. There are a lot of food establishments around, and tourist information center is also accessible. Bus terminal is also accessible by foot. - The onsen is nice, especially the open air bath. - Amenities are provided and can be collected at the hotel lobby. -The breakfast spread is great!”
