  • The Glenrock Review score: 10

“The staff, amenities and the food at the restaurant were all so exceptional! Falling asleep to the sound of the river below was total bliss. We were thrilled to have opted for the river cabins - we loved our lush everything was outside our room. We also appreciated how the hotel had free daily activities planned and listed on a board, including tours of the local village and excursions to the nearby waterfalls. We stayed with our 18 month daughter and had a bliss stay. I would definitely recommend staying here for a minimum of 2 days for a totally relaxed vacation! What a little GEM of a hotel! Well worth a trip to the area!”

  • The Backyard Balangoda Review score: 10

“Wow! The Backyard Balangoda is something truly special. Nestled in the family’s beautiful tea plantation, it is a stunning retreat designed and created by talented young artist Sumit. From the architecture, through to the branding, and through the restaurant into the fabulous menu, everything has been carefully considered to give the visitor a completely unique Sri Lankan experience. The accommodation is in a rustic style, immaculately clean and-frame bungalow with the most stunning views over the valley - an absolutely magical experience to stay in and wake up to. While this is totally off the beaten tourist track, it’s so totally worth visiting - we were only sad we didn’t have time to stay a few more days. If it’s available, book it! Just make sure you book a few nights! Well done sumit! Keep doing what you are doing.”

  • Owin Rich Godakawela Review score: 10

“I recently had the pleasure of staying at OwinRich during my trip to Godakawela, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. Located just 2 km away from the bustling city center, OwinRich offers the perfect blend of convenience and tranquility. The moment I arrived, I was greeted by the sight of a beautiful outdoor pool, inviting me to unwind and relax. The rooms were spacious and exceptionally comfortable, providing the ideal retreat after a long day of exploration. But what truly stood out was the attention to detail and the incredible value for money. The price I paid was an absolute steal considering the quality of service and amenities offered. One of the highlights of my stay was witnessing the sheer joy on my kids' faces as they splashed around in the pool and explored the hotel grounds. The family-friendly atmosphere of OwinRich made our vacation truly memorable. Moreover, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. They even arranged a safari to Udawalawe National Park for us at the best price possible, allowing us to marvel at Sri Lanka's incredible wildlife. Overall, I can't recommend OwinRich highly enough. Whether you're traveling with family, friends, or solo, this hotel offers everything you could possibly need for a perfect getaway. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!”

  • Leel’s Safari Cottage Review score: 10

“We couldn't find a fault with this place! The reviews are 100% accurate. Leel and his family made us feel so welcome. Leel has worked incredible hard to create a relaxing environment, making, decorating creating most of the bungalow himself to a very preofessional standard. Leel's Mum cooked us an incredible feast for our dinner, all of which was 10/10! We also did a safari with Leel (who has 10 years experience) which we also loved, it ended up being a completely private tour and we saw around 30 elephants. Our stay here was our favourite out of our whole 9 month trip in Asia, and it was great value for money too.”

  • Tara Waterfall Review score: 10

“Recently stayed at Tara Waterfall Hotel for a night and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is a perfect example of modern minimal architecture, with its sleek design and glass walls. The highlight of our stay was the breathtaking view of the Handapan ella waterfall from our room and pretty much from everywhere in hotel. Waking up to such a stunning sight was truly unforgettable. The room was very comfortable and large and had a balcony overlooking the tea estate and waterfall. The staff was also incredibly friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Food was also good and reasonably priced.”

  • “As others have said - ‘a hidden gem’. Great views, amazing infinity pool, staff that are delightful and so helpful, tasty food and it is only minutes to the entrance to the National Park”

  • Group Safari Family Bungalow Review score: 10

“We loved the homestay and felt really welcomed by the owner and his family. It's a nice place to stay for 2 nights to feel relaxed when roadtripping. We had the best driver for our 8 hour safari, enjoyed the breakfast, lunch and homemade sri lankan dinner. If you want to try a good Ayurvedic massage, ask for it though the owner and he will guide you to his friend, who offers the best treatment. Also a short visit to the elephant orphanage nearby was worth seeing, and you support the orginasation to continue the care taking. Loved this stay, and would come back!”
