Yes you don't have the Caldera view, but the location is ideal to enjoy the most relaxing vacation and near Imerovigli village with the incredible views of the island, so no harm done. Furthermore our room offered us magnificent view and if you get up early for once you will be enchanted by the sunrise. At its pros is also the staff. So attentive and helpful that we were impressed. Nice breakfast and excellent food at its restaurant came to complete the wonderful time we had at Dome. Hopefully next time in Santorini we will stay there for more days!”

She made reservations on our behalf so that we didn't have to worry about the language barrier and we were never disappointed with her recommendations of restaurants. The pool area is small but this is to be expected given the layout of santorini. It was never crowded however and it was kept impeccably clean. Our room was lovely. We had a beautiful view of the caldera and we were able to sit out on our little balcony and enjoy a bottle of wine. The room itself was a lovely size and we got fresh towels and sheets everyday. Even the ladies who cleaned our room were really friendly.”

The staff are so helpful and friendly and helped us get quads and book boat trips in addition to providing us directions around the town and recommended areas to visit and restaurants to eat at. We have the best time and would recommend this hotel to everyone.”

And last but not least the view to Caldera from the terrace was just amazing, unimpeded and spectacular. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.”

In fact, it was so stunningly beautiful that I was rarely able to put my camera down!!! Artemios, the owner, and his staff are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They advised us on places to visit to enhance our stay and even upgraded us to the honeymoon suite as it was my husband's 50th birthday. We dined at the restaurant (on request) and the food was sublime and very reasonable. The service we received was that of a 5 star resort and I wouldn't hesitate to return. Don't let the location put you off, this is a gem of a place and with a hire car you can easily travel to see the sunset in 10 minutes or so!”

“Everything about my stay at Katerina's Castle was perfect. My ferry was delayed by close to 3 hours and I was travelling on my own so arrived quite stressed. I stopped in at the restaurant/bar above the hotel to ask about checking in and was greeted by the lovely owner who knew exactly who I was, gave me the keys to my room and invited me back to the bar for a glass of wine on the house. The next morning I was also offered a cup of coffee on the house! They were aware that I was a solo traveler and treated me to a free upgrade to a sea view room which meant I was able to watch the sunset from my room. The room itself was beautiful and a typical cave style room with a modern bathroom and huge shower. Although I wasn't in my room a lot as the view from the outdoor sitting area was spectacular! Enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sunset was the highlight of my trip. The hotel was extremely easy to find and there was a bus stop within 5 minutes walk that allowed for easy access to Fira Town, Oia etc. Again, making travelling on your own super easy. Could not fault Katerina's Castle at all!”

The apartment has a incredible view over the caldera from the shared balcony and as there are only 3 apartments, it is super quiet. We could have stayed breakfast, lunch and dinner on that balcony... just WOW. - Value for money. For the price that you pay it is very good value, considering the incredible view from the shared balcony, the amazing hosts and the overall location. Don't book here is you are expecting a 5 star hotel, it's not a hotel, it's an apartment, however it is tastefully decorated and Artemesia keeps it impeccably clean. - The excellent hospitality. Artemesia and her son are amazing hosts. They made us feel incredibly welcome. Artemesia doesn't speak much English but that gives you an incentive to learn some Greek! She is the epitome of greek hospitality, a king-hearted woman, always smiling and friendly, she brought us honeyed rakia on the first night and we even food orange juice, bread, cheese and ham, (even though breakfast isn't supposed to be included!) Marios was also incredibly friendly and helpful and he speaks English well, the perfect host. He arranged our transfers to and from the airport and even arranged a last minute boat trip to the volcano and we spent about an hour on the last night speaking to him about random things. Without this, our stay will be like most of the tourists, going to hot spots and enjoy crowds... The hotel itself is right next to the blue tower (seems to be a landmark in Imerovigli), and it is awesome to have a drink on the balcony and watch people coming to take pictures there. Rooms are clean, staff are extremely helpful and professional, the rate is not that high comparing with the service you would receive. We had a very good experience there, and i would sincerely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a special and nice stay in Santorini.”

In the evening we had an amazing sunset dinner, where everything was delicious and even the wine was from the hotel winery! We liked it so much that we came again on the day after. The concierge was super efficient and gave us many pragmatic tips. He even knew the best dish of every restaurant! The breakfast was served on the private terrace and everyday had something different, like a day menu. Eggs can be ordered and are freshly prepared. Every small detail had a concept, even the porcelain was special. Our room had a warmed water tank, with a pergola where we could comfortably seat. The wifi worked both inside and outside the room. I could write much more but to summarize I would say that this is the place for people who appreciate small details (like being in the pool and being surprised with an ice-cream) and real lifestyle, something that these days is actually difficult to find: with local staff that can speak to you genuinely and really like what they do! “This is a cave house built into a hill facing the sea in Imerovigli. The house has five bedrooms, including an open loft, two bathrooms, a kitchenette with two hotplates, a microwave and a refrigerator/freezer. Being a cave house, there are no windows except out the front. There is an airconditioner. There is a small, comfortable front courtyard and up an external stone stairway there is a roof deck with a hottub (which isn't heated but is sun warmed) with spectacular views of the sea and the sunsets. The house is managed by Antonis, who is the nicest, most accomodating and helpful human being you are likely to ever meet. He arranged transportation to and from the airport, made restaurant recommendations and reservations, negotiated a car rental discount, arranged a spectacular speed boat tour of the highlights of Santorini and was upset and offended when I gave him some money as we left as a small token of gratitude for all he did for me and my family. The cost is vastly below what a good hotel would charge, the service is as described unbelievably good and the location is perfect. While the accomodation is more rudimentary than a fancy hotel offers, it was comfortable, impeccably clean and to my mind far more authentic, private and enjoyable than a hotel. Imerovigli is far less crowded than Fira or Oia, which even in the tail end of the high season is a blessing. There are good, reasonably priced local restaurants and with a car you can get everywhere easily.”

Ilias and Marina are the most wonderful and considerate hosts – the villa is cleaned every day, the fridge is stocked – and you are given the five star treatment and experience you expect from a luxury hotel – but this is so much better! When we plan our holidays - we have the whole world to choose from, and we always seek out new places to visit and explore – we never consider returning to a place we've already been. Casa di Mare is the first exception after years of travel, to break our golden rule – we will definitely go back there! Once you've found a place that allows you to live the dream – you have to return.”

“The house is beautiful and is located in a great location of Imerovigli. All was clean and nice. In the house you will find all the confort you need (air conditioning, tv, small fridge, etc.) The terrace is big and has a nice view in front of the caldera volcano. There is a table, 2 chairs, 2 sun loungers and an umbrella for private use. The house owner (Marinos) is very kind and able to help us for anything we needed during our stay (for example taxi reservation or informations about the island).”

Nektarios and Zhanet are adorable and very disponible, they even offered us a bottle of wine made in Santoini when we arrived and organized our transfer from the airport! In the room they left us many guides and brochures about what to do in Santorini, where to go to eat or to rent a scooter etc. The apartment was very clean too, with all the necessary facilities (even the washing machine!), the panoramic view on the sea is wonderful, the pool is very beautiful especially because we can swim looking at the sea! If I could have rated more than 10 I would have done it! Rampelia apartment is a perfect place to stay in Santorini, also because of its strategic location, and I definitely recommend it if you want to spend a good time in Santorini!
