For us (2 girls in their twenties), the location was perfect. It was around a 15/20 minute walk into the city centre of Edinburgh and a 5 minute walk to the Royal Mile. If you were not wanting to walk or take a taxi to be in the centre, it wouldn’t be ideal for you. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the staff we spoke to were so so friendly!

Cheval Abbey Strand Apartments at Holyrood are located at the foot of Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile, on the doorstep of the Queen’s official Scottish residence - the Palace of Holyroodhouse - and immediately opposite the Scottish Parliament. To add to its unique sense of place, each apartment also has views of the majestic volcanic remains of Arthur’s Seat and The Craggs. For those who have booked a 1 Bedroom Apartment, you can also enjoy the view to the south of the beautiful Physic Garden, reimagined and redesigned from its original status as the Royal Botanic Garden of Edinburgh in 1630. Upon a short stroll up the Royal Mile you will encounter many of the city's most historic buildings and attractions, including the Museum of Edinburgh, the Museum of Childhood and the Tolbooth Tavern, an atmospheric 16th century pub adorned with picturesque wall lamps and art work that seem to justify its haunted reputation.
