“The host was very helpful and friendly and, as a local nature guide, advised us of the best local nature walks. We joined one of his tours to view the rock art, which was fascinating. The village was charming and authentic . Beautifully restored house that was perfect for our needs. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen was luxurious! We will be back...”
“Amazing place! Such a warm, relaxing and friendly environment, made us feel at home. Great room and private toilet - everything modernised and authentic at the same time.
Joaquim was an incredible host!!! Extremely friendly, making sure we were comfortable and gave us amazing recommendations (from restaurants to activities and places to explore in the region). Outstanding staff! Delicious breakfast with a huge variety.
Highly recommend it! Definitely will come back :)”
“A very special place within an agriturismo setting. The staff were very welcoming and seemed to be passionate about the hotel and what it stood for - local produce, its own wines and nuts, the way it sat within the nature around it.”
“Leaving the main road you wind your way up into the hills a short distance to find the hotel at the bottom of a lovely hill top town. The hotel is a collection of old and new, the new being very contemporary architecture with a lot of particle board and fair faced concrete walls, not to everyone's taste perhaps. The finishes, especially outside, are looking a bit tired and in need of repainting to spruce them up. Our bedroom balcony had a planting strip over the retaining wall below and most of the plants were dead with weeds growing up. This somewhat spoilt the wonderful view across the valley to terraced slopes of olive trees and grape vines. The mineral pool did of course smell sulphurous but was warm and soothing, a quiet grassed area adjacent had sun loungers. Again the pool was looking rather unkempt with a black 'litter' of leaves or mould in the bottom, regular cleaning would solve this. Staff were very pleasant but not all spoke English so be ready with the phrase book. The evening meal menu had a good selection and our meals were delicious and wines very good and reasonably priced. Breakfast had a reasonable selection but the warming plate was not working so the cooked food was cold. The hotel has won many awards pre-covid presumably when it opened and will again once the management get on top of the maintenance and some refurbishment.”
“We used the hotel as a base for exploring the Serra da Estrela on our motorbike. Great location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and a good breakfast. We were able to park our motorbike under cover just outside the main doors.”
