“The ambiance was nice. Lot's of nature to surround yourself with. The garden was nice to see too. Water and coffee in the lobby are good additions. Breakfast was simple, yet delicious. Great place to stay. Would stay again.”
“The perfect traditional stay away from the buzz of the city life. The private onsen and dinner was one of our highlights. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Amenities are well kept and spacious.”
“Onsens were great, and so was the breakfast! The room was reasonably sized (although slightly smallish for four), but tidy, clean and generally comfortable. There are three onsens on site (indoor, outdoor and mixed indoor/outdoor). We found the indoor ones tooo hot and used mostly outdoor and the mixed ones. The weather was somewhat chilly and rainy, but even the fully outdoor onsen was great. One books slots of 50 min, up to 3 per evening/morning (one can book one in each of the three categories), between 5pm and 10pm, and between 7am and 9am. This gives plenty of options to accommodate all the needs even when the hotel is full (as it was during our visit). There are probably around 10 rooms on site, accommodating about 20 people at once -- so this is not a very small and very private property as I was originally expecting, but it has never felt crowded as breakfast is at the specified time which you pick at check-in, thus permitting the distribution of people. Unless you plan to stay on site for the onsens only, I would recommend getting here by car -- there is a plenty of free parking.”
“The views from the room and from the restaurant are incredible. It was one of our favourite stays, the room was comfortable, modern and very clean. We arrived by car and the location made touring around Hakone really easy.
The onsen was beautiful, especially the outdoor section, where we could enjoy the warm water with the cool winter air and the sounds of the lake in the background. They offer yukatas in a variety of sizes and colours and you can always go down and take a different size or colour if you are staying multiple days, which really added to the fun for us.
The breakfast was good, and had some good non-Japanese options as well. And the snacks in the lobby were great gifts to take home with us.”
